Richard Madeley feels sorry for us conflicted fans (all of us, drinking from the poison chalice). Very brief mention of the O&D test and nothing at all about why the takeover was ultimately approved and the knots the PL and other “interested” parties got themselves tied up in. They have a different set of moral values formed from a very different religion to that of ours and the western world. I'm not making moral judgements on the Suadis based on our own ethical standards as its comparing apples to oranges. Yes I would not like to live there and do hope that they start to become more Liberal in some of their values but at the end of the day it is their country and if they want to do what they see fit I can't beat them with a stick because their moral frame work is alien to ours. Everyone is very quiet on China, a country which is more modern in some ways but very much in the same league as the Saudis in other ways. I didn't hear an up roar when they got involved and to argue it was a private company is a flase one as no company can do anything beyond the approval of the CCP. I’d be more than happy if we were in a similar position to Everton in 2-3 years time (solid upper mid-table club looking to push on).
