Spurs game would have to be up there, gets glossed over a lot these days, probably because of where Spurs are, but at the time that game was massive, and genuinely felt like winners get CL, so to be 5 nil up after 21 minutes was insane.

So many that are really close together for different reasons, but I'd go for that first half against Spurs because it was hilarious. Easy to forget that was a pivotal match at the time.

The 6-1 vs Spurs was just mental, the multiple shithouse wins vs Arsenal, the 2-0 against Man United this season, and an honorable mention to that Bruno goal vs Leicester in the last minute which all but confirmed survival.

At the time we were head to head with them for 4th and we destroyed them with the most remarkable first half and they never recovered for the rest of the season.

April ‘22 - Leicester City (H) Won 2-1 - Last min winner from Bruno means Eddie has achieved mission 1, staying up.

 

May ‘22 - Arsenal (H) Won 2-0 - For the first time we went toe to toe with one of the big boys under Eddie and won. The bear pit like SJP feeding off the energy and passion of the players (and visa-versa) here is what Eddie’s NUFC has become known for.

 

August ‘22 - Manchester City (H) Drew 3-3 - Another marker, another flagpole planted to say “we are here to compete”. Another sign of our increasing ability to bloody the noses of the “elite”. 3-1 up at one point, the “new” Newcastle United had the champions on the ropes. We were closing the gap.

 

February ‘23 - Manchester United (N) Lost 2-0 - Another defeat in a cup final. We played the occasion and not the team in front of us. We vowed that we’d be back one day.

April ‘23 - Tottenham Hotspur (H) Won 6-1 - We just absolutely mullered them. Never has there been such an efficient demolition of a Premier League football club. The game was billed as a Champions League six pointer but we had it won within 15 minutes.

 

May ‘23 - Leicester City (H) 0-0 - Mission 2 complete; qualify for the Champions League 

 

September ‘23 - Sheffield United (A) Won 8-0 - We won eight-nil. Must be something about the city of Sheffield. Insane score line in a PL game no matter how bad Sheff U were. The last two seasons were starting to show that if you caught us on a bad day then we had the quality, tactics and desire to steamroll you.
 

September ‘23 - AC Milan (A) 0-0. Back in the Champions League and a point at the San Siro. Unreal. 
 

October ‘23 - Paris Saint-Germain (H) Won  4-1 - Who the fuck is Kylian Mbappe? Eddie’s tactics were spot on. With PSG setting up in 4-2-4 formation we took full advantage. Nights like this. This is what they meant when they said “imagine what it’ll be like if this place finally takes off”. 
 

November ‘23 - Paris Saint-Germain (A) Draw 1-1. Winning until almost the last minute. PSG given a penalty for an accidental handball by Livramento. A handball which would only be given in Europe. We were robbed. ‘til we meet again monsieurs.
 

November ‘23 - Manchester United (A) Won 3-0 - A win at Old Trafford doesn’t come with the same feeling or prestige of having vanquished a giant like it used to but still we turned up with a back four including Krafth, Dummett and Targett with Matt Ritchie also thrown in for good measure and absolutely trounced them. 70k turned out in expectancy only to be sent home with faces as red as their shirts by Eddie’s men.
 

January ‘24 - Sunderland (A) Won 3-0 - The first NUFC manager to beat the mackems since Alan Pardew 13 years previous. Eddie’s side came and did a professional job on them. No fuss. No derby nerves. No caution or fear of losing. Just showed up and beat an average championship team without batting an eye.
 

May ‘24 - Brentford (A) Won 4-2 - A win meant we qualified for Europe for the second season in a row until Man Utd’s FA Cup win snatched it away from us. This turned out to be a blessing as the reduced schedule meant we could more often field a full strength team the next season. 
 

November ‘24 - Nottingham Forest (A) Won 3-1 - A huge win in terms of chasing the CL and just in general as Forest have been an extremely hard team to beat this season

 

December 2024 - Brentford (A) Lost 4-2 - Players have spoken about how harsh words were needed after this defeat. It’s clear the players weren’t putting in the required effort every week and something needed to change. 
 

14th Dec ‘24 - 5th Jan ‘25 - The players stand up and are counted yet again, proving they have full faith in Eddie Howe with them going on a 9 match winning run. 
 

February ‘25 - Nottingham Forest (H) Won 4-3. A massive win in the race for CL football. A loss would have been a big nail in our coffin but Eddie pulls it out of the bag again. His teams always show up in the big games.
 

The League Cup - Eddie Howe wins Newcastle United their first domestic trophy in 56 years, beating champions elect Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.

Arsenal away in the semi this season. Was the first time he/we went away to a big boy and proper done them. 
 

I actually enjoyed Man Utd at home in 22/23 more than most games. Late Sunday, 2-0 but felt like a proper hiding. Had so many class games at home under him to be fair, but I love that one.
