Loved Eddie’s interview after. He was fully honest and transparent - usually he’s guarded. He knows he’s done a wonderful job  this season with a thin squad. Now he needs management to make it happen for him.  

Let's hope we don't have to suffer having Gordon and Barnes on the pitch at the same time next season

I think the issue isn't about whether the term bottling it is correct but more why someone would use that term about a manager and group of players who've given us so much.

 

I'm not saying you can't say whatever you like, but it's just an odd direction to go in.

 

I actually don't think the players bottled it, I think Eddie went the wrong direction with his line up and it allowed Everton to gain confidence. When you allow the opposition any sort of confidence, it's very difficult to claw the game back.

I've said this a few times on here before as I think it's very telling but no-one seems to agree  He's a head coach who consistently refers to himself as the manager. That's not normally the remit of a head coach.

 

I think he wants that authority to continue or he's threatening to leave. Those Eales quotes suggest he might have a fight on his hands. What's changed to make him change his mind?

Project that forward 21 games and you'd like to think that Howe's NUFC will have out-scored Keegan's over the same number of games.

 

Crazy how underrated Keegan's defence was though.
