Eddie Howe: To miss Palace (H) & Villa (A) after being Diagnosed with Pneumonia

Mad to think very early in the season so many of us had a wobble about our erratic form and dared to ask the question if Eddie might not have the answer as things looked stale and jittery. How stupid do I feel now for having a moment like that looking back. Never again will I question him.

Not only did he have the answers, he's evolved the side in to a far more sustainable quality side. One that's been without Botman, large spells without Pope, galvanised Tonali, improved Isak further, got Murphy churning out assists and goals... oh and were right in the mix in the final end of season games for top 4, CL football... and also got our first trophy in decades.

If I'm going to be wrong at any point, more than happy to end up overweight from all the humble pie I've eaten.

Great win today. I really hope we keep this going, certainly like us to beat Palace. Villa away will be very tough, but I'm backing us to have a really good run to finish the season.

It bodes well for a great summer transfer window. If we do get CL football we can look for a few more players of high quality to add to the side, and next season will be extremely exciting.

Hope Eddie is all better and in dug out for the next game.

I never wavered once...maybe it's because I'm a realist and can rationalise where he has brought us from. The absolute brink. The man is leader, our leader

To be fair it absolutely did look more than a bit dicey after the Brentford (A) game. Got to take into account the good start was also papering over a few cracks too. Since the start of December it's been majestic, questions were asked but he provided the answers tbh

To be fair, he was consistently playing Longstaff over Tonali and leaving gaping holes in our midfield for the opposition to exploit, so I think we were right to ask some questions at the time.

Since the Leicester game in December, makes for a nicer Welsh town name than previous efforts we've had. Haven't drawn a match since 3-3 with Liverpool on 4th December (unless you count Brighton in FA Cup).

The guy on the right of your DP is a mix of Sandro, Bruno G and Ciaran Clark.

Prompt was to assemble the perfect footballer next to Tonali and Big Joe. Grok did the rest. It does seem to have trouble getting Bruno right though...:hmm:

I must admit the lack of information is a bit of a worry

I'm going to go with it's all under control but something that would cause serious alarm if announced now. I'm sure we'll find out as soon as he's discharged.

As much of a blow it is to lose Howe, it’s better it happened like at this stage of season than earlier in season. At this stage, everything is set in stone. Fitness work is done, formations are done, training is in motion. It’s about R&R and using previous games to make minor tweaks, which you expect the coaching staff to do.

It’s the motivational aspect that’s lost, but that’s when your senior pros (which we have plenty of) step up to fill the void.
