If there's one criticism of Howe, it's that he demands constant intensity.

I'd like to see England implement Howe's press in the heat and humidity of USA and Mexico 2026. Especially after the players have been flogged to bits by their clubs all seasons. How many times did we say "we look knackered" last season? Imagine England.

Silly talk on multiple levels this man

maybe eddie would be intelligent enough to realise to cant do that in such heat and alter his tactics accordingly.

ffs he's not an idiot.

anyway he's not leaving.

The only worry I have is, Howe knows he’s arguably one bad run away from the sack. At which point the England job will be elsewhere. Young family more time at home and a shot at the World Cup. Could see the sense in it.

I don't think he's one bad run away from the sack.

One disastrous season, maybe.

Aye see that's the main reason why I don't think he'd take the England job at this stage of his career... if you listen to interviews and podcasts hes done he's obsessed with football, and the day to day management of a football club, think he would go hate not having to work every day

Part of the importance of [sporting director] Paul [Mitchell] coming in with Eddie, is to let Eddie do the strengths he’s got … take away from him some of the things that if it was up to Eddie, he would spend all his time and every waking hour on.

What we have to do is channel Eddie onto what he does best and that is on the grass, with that he is phenomenal in terms of putting that team together.

Hmmmmm

On this 'secret contract' I recall it being fairly widely reported that he had signed an extension but the term was never revealed. Am I thinking of an earlier contract? Summer before last? I'm sure it wasn't that long ago.

Yeah, he signed a ‘new’ contract in 2022. The details weren’t specifically reported other than it being “long-term”.

So you would suspect this latest one wouldn’t have been too much about increasing the length, I’d guess more at giving him a pay rise in return for giving the club more security should anyone (the FA) come calling.

Tbh, it's only following a disastrous season our hierarchy could consider bringing in a replacement anyway. Imagine being someone like Pocchetino having to follow in Howe's footsteps in taking this club forward.

Now I rate Pocchetino but think he would be a step down from Howe. Even if he wasn't, he would be coming into a club where the fanbase still idolises Howe.

Just go for Potter England and do everyone a favour.

He also likes being away from his family as much as possible  That break between Bournemouth and us must have nearly killed him.

He was out and about a bit mind visiting other clubs.

I notice several papers have went in hard with the 'Howe wants the job/Newcastle are a mess again' stories. Absolutely shameless

Of course they will. They are all based in the south and north west.

Actually think he would be a bad appointment right now, too early for him and doesnt suit his way of managing but the media have decided they want him and fuck nufc

I think the only way he'd take it if it involved staying in both jobs. So he's not at a loose end while the league matches are been played.

He's in front of the press tomorrow, he's guaranteed to be asked about it. Not that you can take anything he says at face value like.

He won’t answer one way or the other imo.

In a way if he don't fancy it at this moment he should say so mind. Let the fans know what's happening.

Yeah if he genuinely has no intention of leaving he would just make that clear , if he is interested in the job then he will do that thing that players and managers always do when they are interested in a move and leave the door open for it to happen, either way I think we will have a good idea tomorrow if he has any intention of leaving.
