Lots of clubs have this distinction although at Newcastle it's never been clear what falls under Eddie's remit or not. Anyhow the biggest concern imo is the rotten disjointed football we play most of the time based on size, athleticism and physicality, over technical ability and possession. The things we were good at have disappeared and haven't as yet been replaced with an effective alternative. Maybe the players we have are not capable in playing any other way but surely most of them are better than what we have been witnessing so far this season. The team needs change, no more Pope hoofing the ball into the stands, no more Burn at LB, Miley needs to play in midfield as he is at least comfortable in possession and doesn't consistently give the ball away, Barnes over Gordon and currently Murphy over Elanga. Most importantly find a way to integrate our 69million unicorn into an effective threat something that so far no one at the club seems to have a clue how to do. Most importantly you need to find a way to integrate paragraphs into an effective post.

He's got several goals and assists in a team that is currently underperforming. It's not like he's not contributing. True but he hasn't had a shot on goal yet, has never been offside which can be a good thing but in his case isn't, and we aren't using his strengths. To get the best out of him we will have to change the way we have played for the last 4 years.

So are his headers. But I'd agree in part, but that's mainly because our wingers have been poor. We have Wissa to come back, who is essentially our Isak replacement. Being harsh on a young Woltemade to come in and flourish in a team not yet set up to play with him. Think we'll likely see him and Wissa at points and Ramsey at 10 instead of Joelinton when Ramsey is fit enough to start more than 1 game. In previous seasons Arsenal played attractive football but the criticism was that they had no backbone and couldn’t win ugly. Think they can do both now, which is probably more than most other sides have in their locker at present. There’s also a case to be made that losing to us in recent seasons has taught them a valuable lesson which they’ve actually used to improve. The game has evolved/devolved somewhat and we’ve stood still for the most part. Still think we’re a better squad than what we’re showing but if just keep being sent out to try the same thing we’ll keep getting the same result. Next few games will be telling to see if the manager really understands what the problem is.

I'm sure Arsenal fans and sunderland in particular don't care, based on the league table. But it's awful stuff. Every game it seems like the ball is barely in play, everyone playing for set pieces, long throws, going quite direct (not always a bad thing). For all the money and talent, I've watched some turgid stuff. I posted in another thread how everyone seemed desperate to try Pepball for years. Despite not having the players to do it and it not necessarily being he way to go. Well, it seems buying big strong fuckers, employing set piece coaches and finding some cunt with a long throw. Is a lot simpler to implement than trying to get players similar to Nick Pope and Mike Williamson, to start playing it around at the back, to play round a press and retain possession in dangerous areas. Arsenal do have a good blend of skill and power, yes. They also rarely have the ball in play, they are often boring as fuck to watch, they're snide shithouse cunts, whilst moaning about everyone else doing it. They've spent more than enough money in Arteta's time and from a good base, that they should be challenging and winning silverware every season. Not the one FA Cup or whatever it is. Like I say, their fans won't give a shit and fair play to them for finding a system that works. But the shift from everyone else in trying to emulate what they're doing seems very recent and I find the football in the league by and large to be a lot worse than previous seasons. So far, outside of Arsenal, it has made it more competitive, at least. But the quality isn't there.
