Love the bloke and have no wish to see him leave, but he needs to get a grip of either the players' performance or his own tactics because one of those things is presently way below par.

I genuinely believe the difference was effort. I can't believe how little we pressed or tried. Lacklustre from the first minute.

I think if the higher-ups ever had considered a time to get their own man, it's close to that time now. Bottom half, lost to Sunderland, probably going to be the time there'd be the least uproar.

I don't want him sacked, but my loyalty towards him is definitely beginning to wane. That was an unforgivably cowardly performance today, where he just got everything wrong. 

Needs to do better and quickly.

Of course it is, based on the five year plan they announced also. They recently got rid of the women's manager for under performing, so I really think people are kidding themselves if they think they will allow this season's shit show to continue for much longer

Won't press, won't get early crosses in so we piss about with shite triangles, won't take players on etc. It feels embedded in fear.

 

We have a decent squad, we should be able to manage our energy to bring Plan A most of the time.

I don’t want him gone but I’m seriously thinking about the answer when the question gets asked. We’re so bad to watch. Every away game is the same so I’m almost at the point of thinking us being so passive is what he wants them to do. Assuming he’s so scarred by 23-24 and playing 3 games in a week that he just slows it down to the point that we just don’t bother running in many a game.
 

If so he’s either incapable of or unwilling to evolve the play style so he goes to a watered down, shite, walking pace version of what we were doing.

Don't think tactically either "nailed it". If Woltemade plays that ball first time to Gordon on the break after we let them have the ball and we win 1-0, Howe's the genius.

I said this in the pre-match thread, that we should do what the best CL sides have done to us. Press them and then hit on the counter. They are poor quality side so I would have thought under pressure they would give the ball away in their own half, which they did a couple of times, but then we just sat off them.

It's not meant to be ultra-derogatory but he seems immune to poor performances and trusted as a key player despite delivering fuck all outside of Europe in a calendar year. Barnes not starting today was a disgraceful call IMO.
