It's about changing things when it's obvious that things are not going to the overall plan. Got fuck all to do that it's the women's team is the fact that the owners will have targets for the club as a unity.

Fair enough, but you're the one that mentioned the women's team hence my reply to that.

I love Eddie and everything he has done for this club, the guy brought us CL and that ever elusive silverware, he's earned a lot of credit, however you're only ever as good as your last game.

Today was horrific, what was the plan? Too many away games this season follow the same course, slow, laboured and toothless. We don't break with speed and we can't build up play, we give the ball away cheaply and we struggle to make anything meaningful happen in the box, our press is easy to play through, we have no bite in attack or defence.

There was zero positives to hang on to today and that's been an unfortunate recurring theme this season. Nothing is working right now and we're in danger of the whole season coming to an abrupt end very quickly over the next few weeks.

I don't think getting rid of Howe changes anything and if anything it will probably make this season worse, he has to have at least until the end of the season but something needs to change and fast because talking in the press about things being unacceptable and learning lessons only to repeat the same thing ad nausea isn't changing anything. The season is recoverable but fading quickly.

Trophy and 2 Champions league qualifications.

History, to be a top club you don't look at past achievements, you build on them. That's the problem with some, they can't see that.

I would like to read that again.

Bournemouth fan here. Thought I'd pop on to see what you're all saying about our lord and saviour Eddie Howe.

IMO he has the potential to be a brilliant appointment for you lot. One thing you get with Eddie is hard, hard work. He was always the first in the club and last to leave each day, to the point where by his final season he had really burnt himself out a bit tbh, which definitely contributed to us getting relegation. He is amazing at developing players up to and beyond their potential, and not always the players you necessarily think of as having potential. He took a team of lower league nobodies, and championship/PL rejects, and turned them into absolute star performers who left everything they had on the pitch. Players like Simon Francis, Marc Pugh, Steve Cook owe much of their careers to Eddie. I've never seen a squad with such an insane team spirit as ours that got promoted from the championship, but tbf that may also be as a consequence of our rapid rise through the leagues as much as anything.

On the training ground as well he is an absolute monster. Forget his nice guy image in the media, on the training pitch he suffered no fools and had a hell of a vocabulary on him. He's very meticulous in his approach to tactics which led to us playing some absolutely stunning beautiful football at times, but in his latter days he did show a bit of an unwillingness to change style and personel which held us a back a bit. He takes his time with new signings so I wouldn't necessarily expect to see any January transfers walk straight into the team. He usually took a good 6 months at least to bed a player into the setup before he trusted them in the starting 11.

One thing I'm really interested in is how he deals with your board. At Bournemouth he was known for being a control freak and pretty much directly oversaw all aspects of the club (think SAF at man u or Wenger at Arsenal), and one of the rumoured reasons why he left when we went down was that our board tried to change some of that and he basically walked. I'm not sure how this will translate to your current circumstance and how much Eddie has chnaged in this regard over his long break from football, as his obsessiveness and full effort definitely contributed to his downfall at the end of his time with us.

Either way, Eddie Howe is THE living legend as far as I'm concerned and you should be counting your blessing that he will grace your touchline with his presence

The risk is you can talk about transitional seasons, but will Tino, Sandro etc buy that

This works both ways. It’s just as much of a risk to sack the coach they all speak so highly of. We qualified for CL last season and our best player still left.

This concept just doesn’t carry the weight some think it does.

I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest that he has another system to cope with all the games. It’s clear he’s trying to evolve the team by focusing on being better with the ball, but right now, too many players just aren’t suited to that style.

Should have signed players for that type of football rather than athletes, he had all of the summer.

We were built around Isak and that was telling when he started not giving a fuck at the end of last season and we started looking pretty dull.

Wissa was likely supposed to be the main man at the start of the season but had to shift to Woltemade and Howe hasn't got it quite right with him. Throw in the Livra and Hall injuries and its been a poor start to the season - we've looked much better since they've returned.

Today was objectively very bad though and hard to make excuses. Hopefully put it down to the "occasion". I'd expect to see Wissa and Murphy (Elanga has been hugely disappointing) more, and a return to some form...

Today showed his limitations. How the fuck we played that whole first half, with superior players, without looking like stringing any passes together is all on him.

Did the cunt sign Elanga to sit on Tino toes for these type of games? Love the guy, but fuck me he’s been a mess this season and for 18 months away from home unless it’s Arsenal.

I do think he’s took us to our a good level but this is his ceiling. England come calling in summer could be a good decision for all parties involved. Said it before, but fans thinking Wissa will change our fortunes are deluded.

He had his DoF walk out basically on the eve of the transfer window and our main striker act the cunt for its entirety.

I'm a huge critic of our summer, it was a shit show, but I'm not putting any of the blame at the door of the people who picked up the baton due to the complete lack of accountability from the people above them.

DoF was pushed as a direct result of Howe immediately after the season ended, that's total bollocks that he walked

Appreciate the insight, just wanted to highlight that he's not "potentially a brilliant appointment". He's been here for 4 years, and is already a brilliant appointment for us.
