No, but you can tell by the tone of his voice he genuinely believes it.

To use your words, come on man.

If you don't rate him any more then fair enough but that sounds like you are looking for reasons to have a go at him.

Massive 3 points, the table looking much better, we four points off 5th and hopefully last night was a shot in the arm for the upcoming games. We suffered and came out on the right side of the result for a change.

Can imagine those last minute losses or draws must have been tough to take and then come out and do it again each week.

Wasn't a performance to rave about but it was a necessary result considering the circumstances.

Wouldn’t be a surprised if a lot of the hatred (and it’s getting to genuine levels amongst many), boils back down to them not wanting him as manager in the first place. You only have to look back to read a lot of people genuinely thought we were going together a name manager.

That every argument they’ve had to put forward against him, including and since his shit start, has been batted away through the covers it’s only natural the resentment can have built and built to the point you’ll lash out hard which now they are.

I used to think outsiders calling us delusional was daft, maybe they weren’t.

I think a very small fringe actually want him out at this stage mind. But then again this place is my only reference for fan sentiment.

Personally I think even this is embarrassing, but it's still clearly a very noisy minority who are keeping the stereotype alive.

With the season we've had so far, the fact we are four points off 5th spot is remarkable. Howe can count himself quite lucky with this, any other season and we'd most likely be adrift in midtable and 9/10 points off UCL places.

Maybe in a different season we’d have more easy games against teams that are getting pumped every week.

Interesting that there were no additions to the yes column yesterday for the first day in a few days.

Saw his interview after the game yesterday and despite the confused football we seem to be playing, I was reminded just what a great leader he is.

Just keep backing him PIF. Give him the resources the top clubs have, and if he fails, then we can judge him.

As always, Disco to act a cunt because someone dared criticise Howe.

He's right though we didn't get battered like you said we did.

We had more;

Possession

Shots on target

Shots off target

Blocked shots

Corners

Crosses into their box

And obviously 2 more goals

Expect more than your 87 minutes of singing @Heron. You’re leaving vital vocals in the stands.

Also going back to last nights chat, he did acknowledge that we looked and felt nervy at times. Even though he then spinned that overall we were solid.

The guy knows ball. The idea that he hasn’t already spent hours thinking about the stuff we’re concerned about is just silly.

Big month coming up. Lots of winnable games (bar PSG) and with a couple of well thought out signings heading into Feb would change the mood music. Let's see if he can do it. Probably the biggest month of his career.

6 out of our next 7 games in all comps are at home. This is a real chance for him to get us up into the European race and keep us in the cups. Regain some confidence and hopefully the away form will click.

The much reduced travel time shouldn't be underestimated here either. Our only away fixtures are the middle and end of the month. The rest of the time can be spent on the training pitch, r&r, etc.

I give up trying to understand this season to be honest. Howe has shown previously that he’s a a problem solver and, in time, he can resolve issues and get the team playing well in his system. He often goes on long winning runs and these have propelled us into the CL places twice in three seasons.

It’s patently not happening this season and we look laboured and bereft of ideas. At the same time we could very easily have 9 points from the last three games. We would only have needed a sliver of luck. I’m none the wiser about where we are so I’m just going to shut up and let him get on with it 😀

Hopefully we are looking at a couple of players in the window to freshen up the squad.
