Someone will no doubt correct me if I’m wrong but I think Eddie Howe just led us to the first season in our history where we’ve still been in four competitions following the FA Cup Third Round weekend?

He’s a fucking magician. Got so much respect for him. Could have easily sacked today off to get a breather mid-Feb but showed his desire to win.

I think after today the penny has dropped for me a little. We’ve not been great this year on the eye, but fucking hell, 4 competitions, he tries to win them all with a small/medium sized squad. We’re 3 points off 4th, semi final LC, likely knockouts of the CL, 4th round FA cup. Lost his best striker who was a fucking killer, had multiple injuries to his back 4 and two pretty inconsistent keepers.

The bloke is a fucking genius, we should treasure him while he’s here.

Chuck 10 year contracts at him and his staff, who is better for NUFC.

Hope he plays the 4-2-3-1 again. We looked good in possession and passing it about for the first 50-60 odd minutes or whatever it was. Didn’t create loads. But we had made 7 changes and were missing plenty of players who would have helped in that regard.

Love the fact he tried the sort of 4-4-1-1 so many of us have been gagging for. He may seem tactically rigid at times but in terms of modern football he really, really isn’t.

On and on he manages to turn things around. Now we’re coming back from being behind. We’re scoring a bunch of goals. And I seriously can’t recall the last time I’ve been annoyed with a lack of effort from a single player of ours.

Considering the usual managerial merry-go-round with other clubs we’re incredibly lucky to have him.

Yep!

Not only is he fantastic at coaching our team he also just keeps his head down, doesn’t make any drama, doesn’t fall out with players, or any of the other shit we’ve had to put up with over the years.

For as long as I’ve been a fan, NUFC has been a circus. He’s changed that. Granted, he hasn’t done it on his own, but the way he leads the club in such a measured way is a big plus point for me.

Fair play for your post. I think lots of our fans take him for granted and will only realise how good he is once he’s gone.

Bang on. The ungratefulness from some is honking.

I also saw today a real evolution of how we are trying to play. We usually have the most possession now, and other teams have to play on the counter against us more and more. We make mistakes granted...but we will improve on that.

Think our final third attacking play is improving. Weve scored a lot of goals recently, but weve just been letting a lot in through costly errors.

The only way is up. The only way is Eddie!

One thing that should be said is he's turned us into a team that wins shoot outs. Whether that's coaching, preparation or something intangible in the mentality.

Pre-Eddie as a club we had won 2/10 (20%), with Eddie we've won 4/5 (80%).

Playing shit and still getting results - we'll win the league when we start playing well

If we stick with Eddie there will be a season not too far in the future in which we mount a serious title challenge. I’m convinced.

Not enough questions being asked in this post for me.

“Questions being asked” had to be up there with the worst pet hates. The cubicle equivalent is “don’t reinvent the wheel.” Language really is a minefield of mindless idioms.

Calm down, mate. I'm just telling it like it is.
