But but he never changes formation.

He is too stubborn with the 4-3-3 or a really weak 5-4-1.

But then see what he can do when he shakes it up a little, and also that the players can fit the formation well.

Anyway, got it more than spot on tonight. More than matched the champions in a game they needed to win.

Spent about half and hour after the game bickering with wor kid about him, he's Howe out and has his reasons, I'm not.

There seems to be a counter to every he says and he has one to everything I say.

He's not daft and I get some points but fuck me, I don't want anyone else in charge for a long time.

The point is he has changed formation before, and will continue to do so at times in the future. And he’s constantly tweaked within formations. Let’s not change the goalposts here. The argument a few have made is that he never adapts his formation.

Cool and calm as always, gets his underlying point across with no meltdown, no rage and no direct blame.

Love the cunt.

I know that everyone groaned when they saw the team sheet. Now do you know why we hold Eddie in such high extreme? The bloke is a football genius.

Not only is he top class at his job, but he is also not an insufferable cunt. I for one don’t want to have a cunt representing the team.

winning as a decent fucking person is something else. We’ve had it with King Kev and SBR, and now him. I believe Rafa could have been that if the circumstances were different as well. We’ve gone through so much shit, but we’ve been lucky to have those four.

I've always liked the wing-back system, and would like to see it continue tbh. That second midfielder has the freedom to get forward a bit, while the wingers can play a bit more centrally and support the striker.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't stick with the static 4-3-3 though.

Second fewest goals conceded in the group stage, off what was said to be the fourth hardest draw before it began.

Not bad for a (insert shortcomings e.g.huge hole between defence and midfield) team.

️ Tactical flexibility

️ Squad rotation

️ Responded quickly when it looked like we were going to be taken apart early on

️ Gordon & Barnes coming on while we were on the up, rather than waiting until they regained some momentum

Obviously a really good result but also a brilliant managerial performance.

It's for the best we don't stick with one at all really. If the players can be aware and drilled enough on shape and patterns, being able to change between and (even within) games would be fantastic.
