He's done nowt but excel himself since her arrived here up until this season and even then we're only two thirds into it. Another cup semi final. CL playoffs. Within touching distance of Europe. Look, overall, he's the best manager the club has ever had. I've said numerous times I want him to be the one who takes us all the way to the top. This season has been full of dross, though, and he's been partially responsible for a lot of it. He's done fantastically well in Europe, and the cups. "One day of drizzle" is a fair comment in the full context of his time in charge, but not this season. This season has been a rainy one. As ever, I hope he rebuilds and I hope we get something like Europa League next season so further adapt to playing in 4 competitions against possibly less intense opposition. r0cafella
Very nicely done Gaffa we were the better team by far and deserved our 3 points.
Casey
Got me a lil misty that. The players pushing Eddie to celebrate with the fans is a lovely salve. I hope to God we can push on
Menace
Showed balls to drop both of our strikers who frankly have been shite. I wonder where we go from here cause his comments about Gordon being fast and able to press were quite telling.
Kanj
Just shows how much losing has bothered him like. The captains pushing him to the fans says it all. We as a fan base MUST stay united. Always better when we’re one roaring force and our gaffer deserves patience always.
Vinny Green Balls
Hopefully the stark difference between us and Tottenham should act as a reminder of what we got with Eddie. Spurs best time in ages was under Poch, and you can tell by the amount of games he managed compared to the other ones.
KDT
I think the performance last night showed that he’s still got the buy in from the players. If you contrast that with how Spurs went about that first half it’s a total night & day comparison.

Seems like an acceptance that neither of his strikers can do the job he wants them to do for different reasons. Begs the question why did they identify and sign both players? I do agree though, shows some balls. Edited February 11 by ExiledGeordie
KDT
He’s taken various players out of the XI when he’s felt that they aren’t able to do what he wants, look at Hall in his first season. Sometimes players come back better from watching and learning what should be done rather than trying to get them to do it when they can’t. It doesn’t mean that they’ll never be able to but it might just take some learning. Edited February 11 by KDT

There are decisions he makes due to that which negatively affect the football, sometimes, but games like last night (and countless others) show why he does it. SUPERTOON
The front 3 last night give us a bit of a PSG style interchangeable forward line. Obviously nowhere near the quality of course.

AyeDubbleYoo
Think we have to just realise and endure that this will be an up and down season right until the end. We played well and we're obviously very tight as a unit, but that also doesn't mean we'll suddenly go and beat Villa and Man City. Hopefully I'm wrong and we can put together some results in a row, but I'm not necessarily expecting that. Hopefully these kinds of reactions at least put to bed any arguments about Howe not having what it takes or not having ideas of what to do. Hopefully these kinds of reactions at least put to bed any arguments about Howe not having what it takes or not having ideas of what to do. Totally. If we weren't so few points off the European places I'd be saying that the season is all about damage limitation from here tbh, because all of our issues remain despite winning last night: a dysfunctional squad which is mentally fragile; and an unrelenting schedule which is impacting our ability to perform and stay fit. Not doom-mongering, because I don't feel either result will be the end of the world given the context, but I think we probably will lose our next two (especially if Bruno is missing). But after that it's the Champions League knockouts and enticing home games against Everton and Man Utd. You'd expect the pressure valve to be released again among those fixtures. As you say, it's going to be up-and-down, and I think - if we're being honest - the season was always destined to be given the summer and the early injuries. Just got to hope people hold their nerve when it feels dicey again, and accept we're probably going to limp our way to ~50 points.
AyeDubbleYoo
I'm not saying we can't build confidence and get better BTW, just that we have some weaknesses and injuries etc that will probably prevent us suddenly becoming confident of regular victories. Fixtures being very important as well.

Settled when hall came on, but he was struggling. Completely disagree with this like. After a shaky opening 10 mins for both fullbacks, they all played a big role in the team performance. No one was remotely close to “terrible”.

AJ9
Back to back wins would definitely take the pressure off. Can’t stomach sacking Eddie at all. Big calls last night on the front 3 and midfield and it paid off.
