We haven't won any games that we wouldn't have expected to win. Not giving him a pat on the back for games we expect to win.

Neatly sums up the entitlement of the Howe Outers there. No credit given for our wins, spitting feathers when we lose.

Embarrassing behavior

Terrible today, thought we looked back on track and once again a shambles. Can't compete in the league, good in the cups. Might be the strategy but 12th, 36 points and losing 12 games is pretty disgusting.

Is it? Not every club gets their top transfer targets. He's spent a lot of money chasing players he's wanted. I'm not buying that this isn't his team I'm sorry.

Once again though, why it's his team is not only being overlooked, but he's taking all the flack for it.

This team is what he managed to put together having been thrown into a DoF role in the summer, when he shouldn't have, and bailing us out in the process.

With some people Howe would have been much better off throwing his hands up and saying it's not his job.

If his summer signings have flopped and he's done a job he wasn't supposed to do by targeting these so called players (players he's chased for a while btw) how has he bailed us out exactly?

No, just more bad performances than good which is why our league position is poor.

Do we really need to go through what happened leading up to the transfer window? Surely you know what happened.

Nothing has changed for me, Howe is still the right man for the job, this season hasn't been good enough though and no one will be more patently aware of that than Eddie. No point in repeating myself ad nauseam, but there are a multitude of mitigating circumstances leading into this season that meant it was going to be a slog.

He deserves at least until Christmas to get a full preseason to work it out and a new season with probably less games to get us firing. If it hasn't worked out by then, maybe I'll change my stance.

I do, but I don't buy this whole "he did us a favour" drab. Even Bournemouth fans warned us he's a control freak with the exact type of players he wants, so I don't buy this whole stick at all.

Yeah, I think I've given up on it clicking in the league now, it's really felt like one of those seasons where every opportunity we give up results in a goal, it's mad.

Would recommend this school of thought to everyone. We've been saying all along and X result being the turning point and it's total bollocks, it's never been coming this year, there's too many issues. We'll keep picking up good results and bad results and in all likelihood the season will just peter out. Do some good work in the summer and go again next season, and hopefully the next time we have a four competition season the rug isn't pulled from under us before it's started.

End of the season can't come soon enough, just utterly fed up and done with this utter abortion of a season. It's been setback after gut-punch after kick in the balls. Frustrating doesn't even touch the sides and it's on and off the pitch too, the players, management and recruitment teams have all grossly underperformed to various degrees and I don't even think it's debatable to say we've taken several steps backwards and we're undoubtedly a worse team than we were a couple of years ago.

Just massively pissed off with how it's panned out and I've already checked out mentally this season. I'll still watch the odd game but it's been dreadful for months. Every person associated with trying to move this club forward needs to have a serious word with themselves, it's been a complete shitshow since May

Friendly reminder that we've played more games than anyone else on the continent this year with a PSR-restricted squad that's unable to cope (rules working as intended). We've played that many games because of Eddie Howe being class.

Second friendly reminder that it's been less than a trip around the sun since we ended a 70-year domestic trophy drought. We ended it because of Eddie Howe being class.

Third (unfriendly) reminder that I hate an ever-growing number of you.

Still here. Just stopped posting as I was fed up of being hounded across the forum by people on the internet because my opinion didn’t align with theirs.

If I wanted to spend my time doing that I’d post on Facebook.

Mad you disappeared when we won 4 out of 5 mind.

Hmm, a bit harsh. We sold our best player and missed out on about 10 targets. It’s not like he hand picked any player he wanted.

Nearly all those targets were long shots, especially when clubs who could offer money money on wages came in. Total misjudgement.

Not a fair comparison, which is why the binary in/out argument is boring. Some defeats, like today and Brentford, are far more worthy of criticism than Spurs, for example, is worthy of praise.

PSG was very good. City at home in the league too. I’m struggling to thing of many other performances that were as good as today, Brentford twice, West Ham and Sunderland were bad.

OK. Not really down with the whole "We'll support you evermore" thing, then.

I won’t carry on the conversation as it’s boring, but just to set the record straight I would’ve stayed (and will do) ‘disappeared’, but only commented as you asked where I had gone, assuming to make a lazy point like you have above that I had stopped posting purely as things had got better.

If you want me to send proof of Whatsapp messages of my praise for Howe and the team over the last few weeks, ping me a message

Your point is also ridiculed by the fact I haven’t logged in to post any criticism, despite the performance and result today.

Anyway, get outside and enjoy your evening rather than thinking about me x

Why on earth did we have to go all in on Carabao in a season like this then? If that load was going to break us, was that a risk worth taking for the very slight chance that we might win it again, in a season where the game load is going to make it very hard for us to win it anyways? That was several extra games for key players (even against Bradford) on an already heavy load, and then it probably caused us to have to play 2 extra games in the CL aswell, given how close we were to top 8. We're not Man City who can compete on 4 fronts, so we need to prioritize.
