It's not even that I think he's a bad manager but I knew before the game we weren't winning this. We are flat track bullies, we will batter the teams who can't stand up against us, but when we come up against teams who give it back, we don't fancy it so much.

You share what you want since I use a vpn you're going to make yourself look unintelligent again [emoji38]

We haven't won any games that we wouldn't have expected to win. Not giving him a pat on the back for games we expect to win.

You're telling me you expected us to beat Villa and Spurs away, and draw with PSG?

Which makes the Makam game very very worrying, they're a modern day Wimbledon who scrap for everything, were a bunch of pussies

Don't think we're beating them tbh. The only way to beat them is with good football, and ours isn't that good against physical teams.

Our midfield looks so laboured and often caught in possession as there is nothing upfront - no movement, no one creating space so invariably our midfield are

forced to play it sideways/backwards. All very frustrating.

Not sure what's worse the day like, the performance or the whiny, tedious "are we allowed to criticize Eddie yet" patter. I see plenty of good posts both in defense of him continuing as our manager and also valid critiques of today and other poor home results.

Personally find very little redeeming about this league season and i'm a huge Eddie fan. Beaten twice by Liverpool with Ekitike scoring in both of course, beaten in the derby, loads of shit goals conceded, 5 home defeats with 3 conceded in 4 of those defeats, players all over the show as EH tries desperately to get a tune out of them on a consistent basis with little time to knit it all together between millions of games.

Only the continued emergence of Hall, how well Thiaw has settled and a brilliant half a season from Miley in multiple positions (until the inevitable injury) give me any joy. It's a cup season so i'm trying to enjoy those games where possible. The league season is a right mess but I do see the context behind some of it.

Can only hope for a quieter summer as far as losing star players go but last summer gave the template out to the filthy ESL clubs to use paid journalists to unsettle our best players so i'm not optimistic on that.

Grow up, the pair of you

Aye you're probably right, even though I was enjoying making him look a fool. Threatening to show an ip address, when nearly everyone uses a vpn now [emoji38]. If you disagree with points, then reply with actual reasons why.

It is, at the minute and has been most of the season. There's no redeeming qualities that should be keeping the shirt at the moment.

I'll never agree like, Ramsdale is still always worse at the fundamentals of being a goalkeeper, and that's fully acknowledging that Pope has made some clangers this season.

Either way we need a new 'keeper in the summer.

Ridiculous checking ip addresses man. 😂 Fans are from all over the world I know people in Gateshead that are Sunderland fans.

No point, especially when most people use a vpn anyway. Maybe I should have changed it to USA instead [emoji38]

I’ve made a pact with myself to completely switch off this summer from the transfer side of things.  From a mental health point of view I can’t deal with it as dramatic as it sounds [emoji38]. Reading Ben Jacobs and Romano, FML. I’ll watch the The WC. But this season has been fucking relentless, games every 3-4 days, need a break

I wouldn't get rid of him, now or in the summer. Today was crap though, similar to Brentford in that it was just a total mess with soft goals pissed away.

There are far too many players letting him down. He needs to be super ruthless this summer moving on some of the old guard who've been brilliant for us but just aren't cutting it any more - Trippier, Joelinton, Willock, Pope and Murphy are top of that list. There's also Gordon and Tonali who have been poor and are prime candidates to fund a rebuild.

Hopefully a properly organised window with the right structure where we can make some good moves and a bit of actual time off this summer for Eddie will allow him to come back refreshed, have a proper pre-season to implement things and put together a more consistent campaign in the league next year.

As for this season, we may as well go all in on the cups now, the players clearly just aren't as arsed about the league despite what he keeps saying in press conferences about how desperate he/they are to improve things.

That all said. The mentality of the side, giving away soft as shite goals all the time and constantly conceding within minutes of scoring a goal is a fucking shambles this season and that has to be down to him as much as the players. He keeps saying we'll learn from it and we never do.

Next time we get into a European competition of any kind, he needs to demonstrate an improved ability to juggle the schedule. He can't keep saying "we don't get any training time, that's why" for ever. It's magnified this season by the late loss of Isak and needing to bed in new signings lately on and I'm sympathetic of it.

And finally - please, please, stop targeting so many athletes and find a few lads who can pass the fucking ball this summer. The collective technical ability of this team is absolutely honking when you consider the money spent on it.

He's still the man for us, no doubt, but there's some room for improvement and he shouldn't be above criticism.

The rebuild is what’s needed and I want Eddie to be the one to oversee it, it shouldn’t even be a debate given what he’s achieved for us.

Too many players have cliff-edged in a season where we’re pumped by too many games. Whether that’s a by product of schedule, playing style or father time, or more likely a combination.
