It’ll take him being named in The Epstein files or something for me to ever get on-board the Howe out train but holyyyy fuck, this was shocking.

If getting him named in the Epstein files is what it'll take to move this club forward, challenge accepted.

He won’t be sacked imo, there is zero chance anyone running the club has any kind of succession plan in place if it was to happen.

Think you need to quit your job, mate. Not working for anybody at the minute.

We simply can't afford to waste this summer and have things start poorly and sack Eddie then.

We spent a lot and "deepened the squad" in his own words. We knew the grueling schedule this season would hold from our last CL campaign and addressed it.

More questions have to be asked of why either a) the reserves and youth arent good enough to step up into the depth or b) why Howe wont use them.

This is another recruiting fail at this point. I know its coming in the younger age groups but there isnt and excuse for us not building rhe 18-21 pool to help the squad.

I dont know what the right call is. I think the cup win has taken some pressure off the club and consistency is everything in football I trust Eddie but his stubbornness and decision making, mentality of our performances too often has been alarming, beyond injury/fatigue excuses. We arent doing the basics well.

I do know there wont be a better chance to change and clear deck. There is money and time. I dont have confidence in who we would bring in thats better though.

‘No-one could do better’ tweets no doubt being lined up by Edwards and Hope.  We look like late-stage Bournemouth under Howe at this point.

I don't even know what to think at this stage. We just seem stagnant and have done all year. What we just witnessed is absolutely unacceptable, a complete disgrace. I have to be honest the constant whining about lack of training time

grates as well, good teams play a lot.

Didn’t like the lineup today and his in game management was poor. Another home loss and poor performance against a typical nothing, shithouse side. He hasn’t adapted or learned. Maybe through lack of time on the training pitch there’s no scope to make changes.

I’m really curious to see what he does from now until the end of the season as there’s nothing to play for. Hes got scope to mess with the system.

He was once again let down by some of our players again today.

What you don't have faith in Ross Wilson our no mark sporting director?

Can you envisage decisive managerial change from the sloths running this show? Might get something sorted this time next year

Probably right he gets another season anyway. If he got sacked there'd always be a band of Howe fans who would hold it against the club forever.

He's a lovely man, a real gentleman, has been a fine representative of the club and the city. Nothing can replace 2 CLs and a trophy. Truly amazing.

But having done all he has done, it's time for something different. He has nothing left to give and it's showing. He is tired, his team is tired, his plans are tired, the whole project is tired.

He deserves enormous respect, enormous credit, and enormous appreciation. Let's keep that in perspective.

But it's time. Before a summer of bad buying and poor decisions makes it worse.

I'm sure you have no qualms with Bruno, Hall, Livramento, Isak, Tonali, Botman though right?

And would have had no issues with Ekiteke, Pedro, Szoboslai, Rafinha, Mbeumo..  being on the team.

Eh? Wissa he tracked for over a year and we well overspent only for howe to make him spend his time on the bench playing sudoku, woltemade has to make do with 60 minutes playing in midfield. That's not right man.

Le Bris.

He’ll be sacked next season. There’s nothing at all about them. Wouldn’t surprise me if they went down.

I'm still Howe in.

Three weeks to reset and come back from this. European football is still possible

Not aimed at you, but couldnt care less of Europe. This was our last big game of the season and we turned up like jokers.

Aye it's all apart of the same incompetence which whiffs throughout the club.

Won't find anything best in class at NUFC unfortunately which is disgraceful given the stated ambitions.

A couple of key players missing but fuck me - that’s why we have a squad. The simple fact is is that we’ve been badly let down by his hand picked summer targets this year. It hasn’t worked and that’s 100% on him.

His in game management has very much been the tail wagging the dog - always reacting to us turning to rat shit rather than make a tweak when we are on top to keep the other side guessing. His favourites are also well passed their sell by date.

I hate to say it but he’s had a fucking awful season on so many levels that have fallen short of his own high standards.

I think a lot of the problems are the players we have just don't have much character, and I said this before the game.

But his in game management is usually rank

Yep, generally always reactive, not proactive.

Absolutely embarrassing that.

Still think Howe is the man and should oversee a rebuild in the summer with the appropriate backroom team in support. The success of the season nor his tenure shouldn't be decided based on 2 games, and what he's achieved to date should give him leeway.

This'll be my last post of the season, I've enjoyed the most successful period of my lifetime a little less because of how much I proper hate a growing number of my fellow fans, it's not healthy. Can't blame anyone for being rightfully furious after that, I am, but there'll be more than a few secretly delighted which is absolutely fucked.

With respect, there's pretty substantial evidence that Eddie's (and maybe the club's to be fair) transfer nous is pretty bang average, and that's being polite.

We've got endemic issues that he's proven incapable of addressing even before this season, so it's dubious that giving him another summer and season will somehow see a miraculous reversal of fortunes.

It's also disingenuous to say he's being judged on two games. Have you seriously not seen the rest of the season?

I agree there are a minority who delight in Eddie's/the club's failure, but they're a small minority imo and we shouldn't lump genuine doubters in with them. We must allow constructive criticism to be aired. Not saying you're one but there are members on this board who refuse to accept any criticism of Eddie, and that itself is extremely toxic.

I've lost faith in him as the man to take us forward long term. His style of play just isn't going to cut it for European seasons and he is unable to implement anything different.

Obviously not helped by his stubbornness with certain players or his complete and utter refusal to rotate players.

I might think otherwise in terms of a rebuild but his signings, for which he wrestled control off Mitchell for, have been fucking wank.

He'll probably be here next season and we might well have an okay year, if he has only PL fixtures and he can press teams off the park with a team of athletes, but you're going to end up in the same situation as soon as we get into Europe.

I don't know if there's anyone out there who can manage the workload, but he absolutely can't.
