He is but gets caught in possession more than I'd like him to, holds onto the ball far too long, but that's often due to limited movement in from of him I suppose.

Tbf to Bruno on this, he's one of the few who can actually threaten the opposition and force them to make positional mistakes so I'm not surprised he makes mistakes sometimes as he's the one making the plays.

The rest are either very tidy without being much of a threat or other flaws offensively, basically a lot of our midfield options while being fine individual players don't actually impact the game offensively to concern the opposition.

No it means an unexpected turn of events.

Such as? Is this not the old 'Vote of confidence'? Which in effect means nothing

Relieved.

We are definitely at a point where you could very much justify moving on from him, but he has so very thoroughly earned a bit of patience and a chance to go at it again with a better summer window behind him than the disaster we had this season.

Hopefully one takeaway from this season has been that if he is going to continue to succeed here then he needs to be able to trust and work with someone who leads recruitment. If we start hearing reports at some point that he and Wilson are clashing over targets then it might just be a case that he isn’t cut out for managing a big club with the ambitions we have. There is far too much to do for one man, he needs to be allowed to focus on what he does best while allowing other people to do the things he struggles at.

Noises seem positive regarding summer, much bigger pool of targets and sounds like everyone pulling in the same direction.

Looking forward to a refreshed squad and a hopefully rejuvenated Eddie.

Good to have the clarity and move forward.

As others have said, I'd like to see us evolve into a more technical footballing side - there has to be more than out running the opposition and constantly chasing the ball that we just gave back to them.

Everyone needs to re-evaluate and step up, a renewed sense of identity needs to be the priority - especially our coaching and tactical approach.

I expect he will feel pressure to start fast next season so will stick to what has worked for him in the past. I’m not expecting any change in approach.

Hopefully we don’t fuck up the transfer window this time.

Glad they've been decisive. Will be the end of a few players. Can see almost all newbies being sacked off bar thiaw.

They must be happy with alternating European seasons and aggroball

Glad he's been given assurances as this will hopefully remove any lingering fears. He's got to do better next season on a number of points that we've all raised, so won't flog a dead horse. Really glad tbh, because it looked for all the world that his reign was going to end on a really sour note. At least now he can hopefully start thinking longer term. Please experiment with these last few games

I thought he's reached the end here as many know. To be honest I'd be happier if he doubles down on classic Howeball, shit house tactics and aggression. He's shown he can't change. Bit like bielsa ball. To be honest limited players in the right system can thrive. Kalvin Phillips anyone!

100% the correct decision. Whether he manages to turn things around is up for debate but he deserved the opportunity to try. I can see it going either way to be honest. Fingers crossed we back him early and hit the ground running next season.

I'm happy with that.

For me last summer would have been a killer for most managers, hopefully with the right people in place to deal with transfers and negotiations we won't see that happen again.

Definitely deserves the benefit of the doubt for me.

Don’t agree with it but it’s good to get some clarity. Hopefully brings some unity amongst the fanbase and we can win our last 3.

Hopefully Howe is as up for a rebuild as he says he is, and willing to let go of players who have served us well but need to be upgraded upon.

I do worry that a bad start, which has been a common theme since the takeover, and things could turn nasty for him though.

He has let plenty of players go that he has liked tbf.

Was undecided either way. This season at the minimum warranted a serious conversation internally about it and we are beyond stale so there was virtue in freshening things up in itself alone.

Still have that nagging Sword of Damocles feel about next season which I cant imagine reaching the heights of previous seasons and whether we can get enough done in the summer to effect that - feel there needs to be a lot to cause even fanciful optimism on that and that feels unrealistic and unlikely, but who knows what's been plotted behind the scenes, had enough time to write this one off a plan for it.

A falling out, for example? Disagreement regarding something, use your imagination

Yeah I was thinking it meant a communication fallout regarding management.

He doesn't seem the type of person who isn't interested in improving.

He's obsessed with football, and studies the game intensively.  Doesn't seem like he can switch off and enjoy life as a family.  His life seems to be football.

I don't think it's the right long term choice tbh, I think we might struggle again next season.

But I do think it was right to give him the chance to put things right, and I doubt we had any concrete plans for an alternative anyway if last summers DOF business was anything to go by.
