Realistically, £52m on dross, £30m overpaid on Ramsey and Wissa.

But none of the signings have improved us, so it’s not exactly an outlandish comment

Nah. It’s obviously nonsense.

I dunno why you're expanding on his point for him (well I do). "£250m on dross" is utter bollocks however you spin it.

Much better today for most of it, well done to him for selecting the 4-2-3-1 and crucially a more footballing personnel. You could say that the opposition were really shit (they were) but that's not stopped us losing points this season so have to be positive about it. The second goal was one of the best passing moves we've put together this season. Also very pleasing to see us go for the second goal soon after the first and not just retreat into a mess. And we did largely defend well today, that West Ham goal is a goal of the season contender out of absolutely nothing and makes me feel like this season is just cursed against us even when we win  we deserved the clean sheet and didn't get it. Still plenty of sloppy heart attack moments second half but thankfully we had done enough at the other end and had a poor opponent not truly capitalising.

We've got to keep Osula, you can see two years of hard work that's gone into his game starting to bear fruit now. He's still a little raw but he's really refined his movement and is an absolute handful. He'll still have off games but will get goals if given some service.

Burn and Joelinton out for Ramsey and Trippier made such a difference to our possession capability and attacking prowess. I get the feeling Joe would have started if fit, but credit to him for sitting down Burn. I just hope he learns that in this kind of game (home against a poorer side) Joelinton doesn't need to start. I'd want him in against the top five or six to help us spoil and in some of the trickier away games, but Ramsey's passing between the lines elevated us so much today and I hope he isn't left on the bench so much next season. Definitely not a co-incidence that we were better with the ball by not including the worst three of our four regulation wide players either.

Got to hope that with some key squad changes, a summer to work on some attacking patterns and a bit of a rest, the manager and players can come back next year and deliver more performances like today.

Where did this come from? Wow!

Looked like the change in formation helped. I also think we just looked to pass it more, letting the ball do the work. It was the best football we've played all season in the first half. There again might just be we were up against shite opposition.

It's both.

Like I think the set up suits the players we have more but also the opposition was obviously not very good. I would personally sign players for next season with this in mind, as much as I think it works better there's still a lot of obvious personnel issues that need to be looked at.

Agree about Ramsey - we didn’t look as good when he tired later on.

Much more like it today. We were brilliant at times and played some lovely stuff.

I have loved Howe’s time here and I want this season to be consigned to the history books forever. Hope he is true to his word about changes this summer and we see an evolved NUFC next season.

It was sort of like a weird 424 in the first half  enjoyable chaos ball imo.

It did lead to some great central exchanges but I felt we were narrow too often as the game went on and we struggled to work it out. Moving to a back 3 was smart.

Play much better when we have better footballers in the lineup.

If we hadn’t be so hopeless at holding on to a lead since the international break (not even counting all season…) we’d be right in the mix for Europe.

Pleased for him with how we are ending the season. Today was good and it's a shame we've had too few performances like that this season.

Just one feckin win would have been enough.

The Isak debacle aside, i'd give it a solid 8. We got rid of some dead wood, signed some obvious upgrades and on paper, improved our striker situation - reducing our reliance on one player for the majority of our goals. I would have liked to have seen another CM and/or a #10 but overall, can't complain.

I don’t think there’s anyone in our fanbase, wider football or the media that thinks we had a good transfer window. Arguing otherwise is strange to say the least.

Not sure what you're trying to highlight with this pal. The first comment (second on your list) was made in September last year before this shitshow of a season played out. Wissa looked like a decent signing, Elanga looked like a decent signing, Woltemade had obvious class, Ramsey I hadn't seen much of and Thiaw was an unknown quantity.

6 months later (3rd comment on your list), it was apparent that the players who looked good on paper looked shite/average in reality, or Eddie didn't know how to get the best out of them.
