Optimistic Nut Posted September 2, 2023 Share Posted September 2, 2023 We had starts like this under Sir Bobby and the seasons turned out fine. 02/03 we were top after the first game, then got 1 point from 4 games before finishing 3rd. 03/04 we won none of the first 6 and went on to finish 5th (still an underwhelming season). I think it makes sense as his football is quite ambitious - when it comes off and confidence is flowing then it feels effortless. Opposite when things aren't firing. We can change defensive shape. Villa caused us issues in the half spaces too. That’s where they got a lot of joy. I said this after the game. Howe has not successfully addressed it at all.
