Andy
If anything has held consistently true since the takeover was completed, it's that the journos know nowt. All complete guesswork.
Scotty66
Who had the first interview with Staveley? Pete graves? Was he one of the first to mention the takeover would be done in the next few days after the Bein news broke? If so he's worth taking note of what is said. If not, just don't listen to Edwards. His only source was his boy Bruce, hence why he got the sympathy interview. Edited October 22, 2021 by Scotty66

Ashley17
Might be a stupid question but what’s the work permit rules now? Could he have to wait for clearance and that’s why Jones knows he has two games?

nufcnick
After everyone that’s been mentioned, ending up with Martinez would be like, shagging Jennifer Lawrence then pulling out to finish in Susan Boyle

Dr Jinx
Although Martinez wound still be a massive upgrade on Bruce, he does feel like a step back from some of the others we’re linked with. But.. in the time since Everton he’s gone on to work with some of the best players in the world and we should give him that benefit of doubt that he’s probably improved as a manager. Fonseca is still my preference but I also understand the risks that are involved there, it could turn out to be a disaster. We simply don’t currently have the players to carry out how he sets his teams up. Can we afford to write off between now and January?
LionOfGosforth
Have an irrational hatred of Martinez ever since he turned a blind eye to that thug cunt player of his who cut Haidara in half in a game at Wigan. Couldn't give a monkeys chuff if he's improved since then, no thanks.

Based on the Hunger Games/Everton. Sure the blonde hair and easy international games enhance them but that's not real. I think we can agree on who would be Susan Boyle in this analogy though, except she has a good personality. nbthree3
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-new-manager-lampard-fonseca-25280445 - posted 22:30 today!! Paulo Fonseca is poised to succeed Steve Bruce as Newcastle boss - with Frank Lampard understood to have pulled out of the running. As first reported by Mirror Football on October 8, Magpies co-owner Amanda Staveley wants to hand a long-term deal to Fonseca worth £6million-a-year - but she had been facing opposition from co-owner Jamie Reuben who wanted Lampard. Bruce’s former assistant Graeme Jones will stay in interim charge for the next two games with discussions between the competing voices ongoing. But Lampard is believed to share the concerns of a string of managers concerned about Newcastle’s prospects of staying in the Premier League. The club are second from bottom and winless after eight games with matches to come against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and in-form Brighton. Fonseca, 48, impressed in his interview with the club with his short and long-term vision for the Magpies along with his teams’ style of play. The former Roma boss is known to be ready to leave his family in Rome to base himself in Newcastle and commit himself to transforming the second-from-bottom club’s fortunes. A winner of nine trophies at Shakhtar, Fonseca has inspired Staveley and excited fans with his CV which includes leading Pacos de Ferreira to third in the Portuguese top flight, meaning they qualified for their first ever Champions League. KaKa
Oh my God ... we've got a jobs for the boys guy in the camp in Jamie Reuben. Terrible news if he's going to be in there just trying to get his English/London mates into jobs at the club. Terrifying!
