Looks like we are already behind with Danny Rose. Regardless LB is next on the list. If we get that it will be a mass push to get the likes of Gayle, Muto, Atsu, Saviet etc. out and if there is time after a move for Bowen or a Striker might happen.

Wonder if we know it's OK to buy players and not just borrow them.

We are now seeing the real transfer strategy MA has always wanted and which Rafa was refusing to comply with.

We'll always go loan with option to buy when possible, especially in January. Trying to target players on our database that have perhaps not worked out at clubs they moved to fairly recently. In summer is when we are more likely to see more traditional purchases.

I have no doubt we'll end up with some decent players this way, but let's see what the manager will get out of them. Think that will continue to be the issue, which will be really irritating.

Bruce is one of the few managers who won't mind players being bought for him as he doesn't really have a fixed style of play. As long as he can keep our current set of defenders, it should be okay, but as we are adding new wide players, if they don't have the defensive discipline of those drilled by Rafa, we are probably going to start seeing more goals shipped. Let's just hope we score a few more as well.

For the level we are aiming at and for the ambition of 17th every year I cant see the point of signing anyone other than a couple of loans to cover injuries

This lad knows what he's talking about

Bruce has already rolled out the "if we dont get anyone else in I can't complain" comment. We know how it goes.

Can see a left back maybe but he already prepped us for no striker last week talking about injuries and no need for a striker as gayle and muto will be back after the two week break coming up.

Apparently Newcastle won't pay the asking price for Bowen because he doesn't have Premier League experience. That argument falls apart when you consider the fact Newcastle like to do the majority of their transfer business abroad. I doubt the club considered Premier League experience to be an issue when they signed Joelinton and Saint Maximin.

I've not too unhappy with the two loans we've got in, but we need a striker. Just pay the £17M for Bowen, and get the deal done.

He's not a striker.

Not sure how many times this needs to be pointed out.

He can play as a striker, behind the striker, on the right, and he scores goals consistently.

We need more attacking options clearly.

We need an out and out striker imo. The strikers Man Utd are linked with are the players we should be looking at to see us to the end of the season.

I agree he's not an out and out striker tbf. I just think he would really help our attacking options.

Ideally if we got a productive striker, in you'd wanna go 4-2-3-1 IMO. ASM, Bowen, Miggy behind the main striker would be decent.
