Because those are MA's favourites due to them being young and having the mythical potential. Boubakary Soumaré is only 20 years old. I also suspect that there is something very beneficial to us in the way these deals are being structured. Rafa was refusing these kinds of signings which is why we were not signing anyone. A £30-40m player from the continent at that age is probably still ‘only’ around £70-80k. A proven quality player at those fees you’re probably looking 2 or 3x that? Also, even if they don't get sold on for some big fee and they stay at the club, MA probably thinks they are worth the price paid as we hold onto them for goodness knows how many years.
