(Can't have Ritchie in the starting 11 IMO) He's a good squad player and has served the club well during a difficult period. But we've got to sign a proper left back and a nailed starter who can take corners. Have no idea who that might be. Maybe Neves? He is exactly the type of player I'd like to see us go for. Coutinho is exactly the type of player I'd like to see us avoid. He's just too specialist for our needs at the moment and I could see his arrival really compounding the chronic lack of balance we have, as we'd cycle through endless systems trying to get the best out of our marquee signing. What kind of player do you need for a relegation battle? I’d say an immensely talented creative goalscoring midfielder with PL experience isn’t a bad place to start. Howe (if it is Howe) is not going to park the bus. He’s going to try and play technical attacking football, which means we need technical attacking footballers.
