If we are to keep building in a 3-2 setup, let Trips be part of the 3 and have him keep pop passes into midfield that he does so well.

Get Hall at LB to push on and add some progression from midfield spaces there. Apart from Bruno nobody in midfield spaces picks a forward pass. Hall can do that.

Trippier was excellent. Leao rarely troubled him. We did well to block passing lanes into Leao in the main. Leao is so good he still should have scored twice.

confident in saying he’s one of the best players to ever wear black and white. a proper player Tripps. he was immense again last night.

although not sure what it is, but it does seem like he may have lost a bit of confidence in his set pieces. maybe get Tonali on them for a bit.

Agree with all of this.  His set pieces really have gone to shit.  Which is weird, as no other part of his game has dropped off.  If anything, he looks better than ever.

Most progression from our defenders

Then Almiron who wasn't on long at all.

Most progression usually comes from defenders seeing as they are the ones with all of the pitch ahead of them tbf. Trippier is always our most progressive player by absolutely miles though. I really think we should be dropping Bruno and Tonali deeper to revive the ball off the CBs more though.

Bruno has great progression stats for a midfielder.

Joelinton and Willock had great progression stats through running/dribbling. As did ASM.

With 3 of those all out the side now. We are struggling. We were never the slick passing team. Our 8's aren't passers. Our wingers now, aren't the best dribblers.

Aye, was coming in to say the same, his level in this last two and a half matches has been obscene.

I think he’s our best player, and he’s definitely our best recent signing given the fee, impact, etc.

Kompany-esque from right-back, which just doesn’t happen.

Outstanding in Milan and again today. Even his delivery seems to be back.
