RB is not an area we are short for cover. We have Livramento, who is arguably first choice anyway, and at a push we can play Krafth who is a capable 3rd choice.

Wish we could say the same for the striker cover.

True.  But we do still rely heavily on his passing out from the back.  Especially if we end up with the unholy ball playing trinity of Tino, Longstaff and Murphy down that right hand side.

Hoping Trippier missing might be negated by Tonali now seemingly the starter, Hall on the opposite side offering some line breaking passes and possibly a change at RW.  Barnes/Gordon or even Almiron, at times.  We are so weak down that flank or side of the pitch in general when we have so many that are bad on the ball.

There's always going to be some downside to anything, but we are still lucky enough to have two England RBs to choose from. I think Tino is better when he's played on the right as opposed to switching to LB where he's been used at times this season. Even Tripps suffers when he's got players in front of him who can't hold the ball for more than two touches. I actually think MIggy is probably the best suited for possession football down the right if end product is taken out of the equation.

Hopefully having Tonali down that side will ease the technical issues a bit.

Tonali is not a technician. We need to stop putting this pressure on him.

Yeah, agreed. That’s not his game.

We lose so much passing progression on our right hand side without Trippier, Livra is defensively solid but he’s not a technically natural attacking full back. We arnt deploying a full bore press anymore so technical and creative quality in wide areas is more important than before, we are just lacking in this regard especially without Trippier. Luckily Hall is progressive on the other side.

I’ve mentioned it before, but you get the most out of players like Tonali and Livramento in a press. Two players that seemed to be signed for the style that we don’t seem to want to use anymore.. not saying we can’t still get very good use out of these players because we are able to adapt and will do so.
