When we ain't playing well setpieces are the evener so letting someone constantly fuck them up can't be happening. Tindall should have got word to tripps to switch the taker.

I maybe undervaluing the leadership element, but I don't think that's justification to keep a backup RB on such big wages given the trust I have in the management team and the amount of experience we have among the players in the dressing room. My heart says he's earned the right to choose when he goes, my head says we need to be ruthless in moving players out at the right time and this Summer feels like the right time for me with Trippier.

Disagree. We’d need another RB anyway as we’re going to have plenty of games. One more season with roughly 15-20 starts across all comps IMO. His leadership and on field coaching is massive.

I wonder if we'll keep hold of him with a view to bringing Shahar through the season after.

He's highly rated and been training with the first team squad a lot.

That would be perfect. Shahar shadowing Tripps and Tino for a season, possibly a LC match or three and some games against the relegation fodder at home.

I’d love him to stay now, makes perfect sense if Hall is back and he doesn’t have to play so many game. Great person to have in the squad if his focus is right.

Certainly won’t be actively selling him unless he really wants to go.

Probably all depends on what Trippier wants. If he’s happy to be a squad player we will be happy to keep him.

Really thought he'd have fancied that free kick. Went from banging a few in in his first 6 months here to a real dry spell.....was his last the one against Man City a couple of years ago? Can't be, surely.

Obviously worked out for the best he left it for Schar today.

His career record on direct free kicks is actually nothing to shout about at all. Really was a purple patch for us in the first year. But when he gets them, you don't forget them.

God, I hope we haven't seen the last of him in a Newcastle shirt. Really want him to stay even if he won't be playing much. Hoping he does play against Everton at the very least. Such an inspirational figure at the club.

24/7 drinking and barely attending training from what I've heard. Relationship breakdown really affecting him.

Rubbish imo, you can’t put in the level of performances he has recently if that was the case.
