Fair fucking play to him, coming through two very tough 90 minutes like that. Should get a well deserved rest as the weekend now, then after that Howe might have a big call to make who partners Schär for Wolves.

Who partners Burn, probably.

His recovery isn't normal, not necessarily the timescale, won't be the first player to play about 9 months from surgery taking place

It's more playing back to back 90 minutes away from home and only about 3 days apart, absolutely incredible

We now have the luxury of giving him some rest as he shouldn't be needed against Bromley and when it comes to Wolves we'll have Schar back

Feels so good to have him back. Looks like he’s made a full recovery. Hope he gets his long overdue call up for Holland soon. He’s miles better than De Ligt and Timber for starters.

Botman is the defender De Ligt wishes he was, and everyone thought he would be.

Nah,  De Ligt would have been Bob Moncur, Botmans more Pat Howard (back in the days when there were no LCB's or RCB's .......you have either Thug and technician or two thugs)

So impressed that he's performed at this level so quickly. I was one of those that thought he'd be phased back gradually and would have some really ropey performances initially but would be understandable.

But he literally stepped in from the cold on a less familiar RCB role and bar a slight lack of sharpness on the Solanke goal, has really slotted in superbly.

Some fantastic blocks and headers tonight. Great attacking header also to knock on for the first goal.

Love having him back and hopefully now he and Burn can rotate together and keep eachother fresh and fit for the remainder of the season.

Also, shows how fantastic Burn has been that I don't feel it necessary to drop him out automatically.

Do think Schar comes back in when fit to RCB though, he's too good on the ball not to slot straight back in on the right side.

I really feared for us going into Spurs and this one without Schar.  I didn’t think Botman would play one, let alone both of these fixtures. Apart from losing Solanke for Spurs’ goal he’s been immense.

Botman and Schar both have the ability to press high, get up the arses of forwards, win it and then distribute, and their distribution, whether short of long is immense. We really need one of these two playing to help push us up the pitch and keep pressure on in the final third. Without one of them we risk dropping too deep.

As an added bonus Fabi also has his marauding runs every now and then. Botman’s headers are op as fk. A brick shithouse who blocks everything. Next to another brick shithouse in Dan Burn, flanked by the two best full backs in the country. Let’s not worry about which ones will play or won’t, any combo will be class so let’s just enjoy it.

Now the real question is where we go from here? with the fixtures coming in fast i think its a good thing that we can rotate and have cover in case someone gets injured, ideally there is no reason to keep playing him once Schar and Burn are back and we can afford to give him some rest to continue getting to full fitness, i would play Botman in the FA cup and rest him for the league game against Wolves.
