I do like the theory that Spurs will have to lose Son if they don't make the CL...and sell him to a side that is also not in the CL

One team on the way down, another on the way up. If a player isn’t smart enough to assess that situation and see potential (like Bruno has) then we shouldn’t want them here anyway.

And I didn’t say Son would leave because of lack of CL, I said Spurs may be forced to sell their better players. They are in a terrible financial situation.

As far as money goes, we can go for anyone now. It’s about that player buying into the vision.

City and the dippers are up there but they can’t sign every great player.

I don’t think Spurs are in a terrible financial situation? They have large debts due to the stadium, but are otherwise pretty healthy- certainly don’t need to be selling players.

Wages to revenue is 57%, and they made £359.7million last season (a 9% year-on-year fall, but they will gain ground on the clubs above them next year when matchday revenue is factored in.).

From what I've seen of him, Bissouma is the exact player we need to sign.

We definitely need an athletic DM to both protect our back line and assist/free Bruno. Longstaff / Shelvey / Big Jo aren’t the answer.

Just so everyone remembers, Bruno played the deep role for Lyon. I’d still like to see a specialist DM type but Bruno more often than not is the deep midfielder prior to joining us.

If memory serves he was the slightly more progressive of the double pivot so could play alongside a specialist DM in that system.

He played alongside Maxence Caqueret whom I believe is the more defensive player. Either way, the characteristics Bruno possesses with ball carrying/passing, he’d simply be wasted as a DM with us.

I think Bruno could play as a DM in this league but only against the weaker sides where we want to control tempo - and, really, this would be to play him as a deep lying playmaker rather than a true DM. Against good teams who often have very athletic players, it puts a lot of pressure on him that I think mitigates his best abilities in the PL. One of the best things about him is his versatility to progress play; he's a great passer with good range, yes, but he also looks to find gaps, play 1-2s, take on a man etc.

Basically, he's an option as deepest mid but I don't think it's where he should be the majority of the time. I think Phillips is great foil for him, tbh, if he's still the same player he was.

One of those youtubers seems convinced Diaby is coming here, he's drooling over a video showing his tricks and goals. All seems very premature but what the heck, why not.

Exactly what we need a midfield enforcer, probably cheaper than Haidara aswell.

From the little I've seen on YouTube he seems to pop up in the box an awful lot for someone listed as a DM - seems to be almost playing the role Bruno has been for us, rather than just sitting in the centre circle breaking up play and recycling possession.

This seems to back up what you’ve seen on YouTube.
