Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

 Actually enjoying this myself.

Amusing that we're upsetting people....by daring to have a player and wanting to keep him, then having the audacity to approach another player.

@Eintracht , the Reds are now planning to submit an offer themselves. Liverpool aims to outmaneuver the Magpies. The battle #LFC @NUFC for #Ekitiké begins...

Liverpool just come across as absolute tossers same as Chelsea. We’ll buy top names coz we can and don’t want anyone else to have them. But… they’ll probably spend half the season on the bench.
Players need to ‘man up’ and realise they could be absolute heroes… on a good wage… it bugs me that they don’t take risks.

Make 1 last offer and move the fuck on.

Let's not get caught up in this tit for tat nonsense. We'll just look desperate. There must be a list of options for Eddie to consider.

It's Liverpool who look desperate in this instance like.

Lol if Liverpool follow us around for every transfer now until we agree to sell them Isak. Just flaunting that superior PSR position over us and scuppering ever player we go for :suicide:

Our 'wee little club' should know it's place.

Disgraceful behaviour... 🤣

I’m quite happy. We’ve got them rattled imo and going for a player that I don’t think they’re 100% convinced on that’s going to cost them huge money. And our striker is going to sign a new deal

Maybe, or hes just doing it to get Liverpool at the table. Its a shitty business, more than we think.

Pedro did the same.

What did either if them do ffs ? On neither occasion  did we have a bid accepted by their clubs

He could still come here but it’s hard to compete with the wages they can offer.

I think the Isak stuff is all mind game crap, for now anyway.

This is the same Liverpool who took nearly 1 year to agree new contracts for Salah and VVD, they're not the same animal as Chelsea when it comes to salaries.

I think we can offer Ekitike similar terms.

The whole framing of this as "4d chess" and "poker" by Liverpool customers is quite amusing. They wanted Isak but can't get him, so they're moving on to Ekitike and will maybe outbid us for him. Happens a few hundred times per window. Not sure how it constitutes diabolical Machiavellian genius

This is the thing that Liverpool fans don't seem to have thought through like. Okay, so you're going to target a player we want because we won't sell you Isak....and spend nigh on £90m on a player you don't really want and we keep the player you want?

Nah, they look like entitled bullies. It's not that they're not allowed to bid for players from other clubs. Of course they are. It's the way they do it. And an expectation that every fkn player is just desperate to wear their shirt. I know they're a much bigger club but the disdain with which the club and fans have for everyone else is nauseating. They're nee more special than every other club but they are convinced they're God's club or some such shite. I just fkn hate them. I do feel a little better now though.

We’ve definitely upset Liverpool’s transfer plans, hence the wild flailing in the general direction of their prospective targets.

I reckon they thought they’d have time to get the Nunez deal done first before making a play for Isak or Ekitike later in the window. We’ve stole a march while they’re in no position to actually bid, so they’re in boat rocking mode.

Most likely outcome here definitely feels like they blow us out of the water for Ekitike. Annoying in the short term, but that coupled with Arsenal’s deal for Gyokeres the market for Isak drastically reduces next summer.

If I was Liverpool and Isak was the target I wanted and I’d had failed to get him to request/agitate for a move. I’d probably still fancy my chances of getting him next year. You’d back yourself to have a better season than NUFC and if no new deal a cheaper price. Do they want to spend £75m+ on a player who’s not the one they really want?

Possibly if hes the best they'll get.

Well you see they get a player a rival wants in Hugo, whilst unsettling the main striker of said rival in Isak.

There you go 4d chess.

Or something...

I’m enjoying this too tbh. I mean we don’t exactly know the timeline of events, but it looks like we’ve forced Liverpool into action ahead of what they were planning on. They may get Ekitike, but it looks a bit desperate and reactionary.

I think whatever happens, including an Isak sale for a huge price, we will end up better off overall.

This has been a pathetic window from Liverpool. If you wanted Isak you should have not blown everything on Wirtz. To then try and muscle in on Ekitike by saying they won’t let us get him if we don’t sell Isak is incredible really. Proper dogshit negotiating and they deserve nowt for how they’ve carried on. Hope they get stung to fuck by this

Nothing outrageous from Liverpool, surely?
They, like lots of us are probably wondering how we can afford that for Ekitike and so ask if Isak is available. We say no. They want to move Nunez on and looking at the available forwards with a similar style, Ekitike and Sesko seem obvious players to look at.
Or, we’re looking at Ekitike knowing full well that Liverpool are gonna seriously try for Isak this window so we need a replacement lined up.
It would be wild if we had both but would worry the rest of the squad build could suffer. As, I’m sure are EH and crew. Weighing it all up and trying to be as best prepared for all outcomes as possible.

Have Frankfurt already got a replacement agreed (supposedly)? They must have some kind of say in all of this. Can they wait for Liverpool to make an actual bid or for them to continue try to fuck around with us to sell them Isak?

Said it before; let’s get a bid and terms accepted and make Liverpool show their cards. If we’ve got PSR headroom and don’t lose a purple, either outcome is good. Liverpool paying 80M or more on a player they don’t really want or seeing him improve us gets my approval.
