I love this guy. I can't believe a player of his quality casually dropped into a relegation battle to join us

Seems insane when you put it that way. And then to score that backheel volley for his first NUFC goal, and then go on the best scoring run of his career after that, what in the actual fuck man.

People love to pin an exact position to players all the time. Bruno can do literally everything in midfield. He plays all over when he plays. From sitting deep to getting forward, scoring and assisting.

It doesn't have to be black or white and nothing else. This player plays in this position, full stop!!!

He's an all rounder!

He's an excellent all rounder, but of course he has a defined role in the side. He's played as number eight since he joined.

This chap is far too good to be confined to a defensive midfield position isn't he?

The crazy thing is when he's played deepest he's still racked up goals and assists from that position. The guy is sensational!

I think he's at his best in the middle rather than in one of the two wide slots, personally, allows him to be much more involved in the game and he can still break forward.

It's as simple as Joelinton or whoever else just dropping in for him when he goes forward.

Yeah, just mentioned this in the transfer rumours thread. Think it might be worth going with him there, and adding another central midfielder that is forward thinking.

The likes of Aouar and Brandt are available for a relative snip. Adding one of those to the midfield three alongside Bruno and Joe could be very exciting.

Bruno's movement is the exact opposite of what we are used to seeing in our CM's in the past. Whether he picks the ball up from deep, or whether he's making runs further forward, he never stops moving. If he passes it, he'll be running forward to get the return ball. If you are Colback or Shelvey, your job is to pass the ball sideways ( Colback) or long ( Shelvey) then sit back and have a cuppa, your job is done.

I think he could start for City as well like, he’s absolutely class at pretty much everything. The way he shifts his body and balance to shield the ball and pass in any direction under pressure or just hold it up is incredible. He has outstanding vision and movement, he can finish and he wants to be involved in everything. Cannot believe he plays for us

Appreciate it was a pre-season friendly against a third division German side, but he came on and completely ran the show.

To be fair, Shelvey was running the show first half. It was just a less entertaining and effective show.

The best solution right now would be to drop Shelvey and play Bruno deepest IMO.

Sign someone else to play further forward.

Bruno is the perfect player to play that role. He doesn’t sit to deep, but can control the game and also has the energy to get around the pitch and still do what he does in the final third. Would be madness to play Shelvey ahead of him.
