I genuinely think that would be his best position tbh, but it’s just not something that seems to exist in football and modern systems anymore.

With Bruno I think it could work though because he’s still very good at pressing and winning the ball. We’d need to find another player who can come deep and receive the ball from the GK/CBs though.

Of all the tactics in the world i still hate the 4-2-3-1 and the double pivot most of all [emoji38]

It's not really anything to do with what people are suggesting here, there was just period in premier league when every team had to have 2 defensive midfielders sat in front of the defence not doing a whole lot and keeping games down to low scores. I know it doesnt have to be so defensive but i hear double pivot and i want to cry

Maybe. I think we need to see a bit more of him to see if he’s safe enough to play there in the PL.

Tbf, am I right in thinking when Bruno first came into the side we had Shelvey as the DM and Bruno as an 8?

Bruno played as an 8 last season against Forest away I think and played it well. Can't remember who was the deepest player but I think Miley's long term future may be a deeper lying midfielder

I think Miley is quite similar to Bruno in that he could probably do both well but also lacks pace to the extent that he’ll need someone to cover those deficiencies. Plenty of time for him to improve physically, mind.

Played alot as a number 8 in the first season with Shelvey sitting too and bagged a fair few goals.

Would rather he was on the bench. Getting benched for the odd game would be good for his psyche IMO.

Have we won a game without him being involved since he signed?

If we can't win a home game against Wimbledon when he doesn't start then we have bigger problems than we think.

Not since his first start. We did after he signed and before he first started, in March 2022.
