Sometimes these seasons where there's nothing to play for in the league at this point can be quite interesting, pressure free and enjoyable.

I say sometimes, basically under Ossie once. Every other time I can think of was brutal but pre Ashley often spiked with cup runs

I sais for a long time we were too light at CM. We needed another Tonali to rotate effectively with the starting 3 + a Ramsey like player.

Pretty much the whole of the fan base has been saying it tfh

Ossie’s babes promised much, another false dawn at the time unfortunately.

Glad we didn't risk buying anyone in January.

Who could have known an injury would be coming with the way our players have been ran into the ground.

You reckon we should've bought a 7th center-midfielder?

We basically needed more players in. Miley/Tonali f.ex will have to rotate in at RB.

Hall could have been tried at CM if we had gotten cover at LB etc.

Not that complicated.

Ramsay's been good recently and I think Willock's been playing well this season. I think Ramsay would be the guy who can take the ball under pressure shield it and move it on like Bruno does, though without the triangle pass.

Could move to three at the back to only 2 cms needed, or 4231 with, say, Big Nick or Willock in the No 10, depending on whether we're going to be more posession-based or counter attacking, with Ramsay, Tonali, Big Joe and Miley covering the two deeper roles when the last two are back.

Could even see Barnes or Gordon in a 10 role. Would be very interested in seeing if Barnes could play as more of a second striker, popping up all over the place and making his runs from deep.

Or just stick with 4-3-3 as per.

When Miley is being counted as backup to RB and with the amount of minutes Tonali/Bruno has played this season, it really was.

Surely the answer to Miley having to play out of position at RB is to…buy another RB.

We want him, but there's obviously too many other big clubs in there. Just look somewhere else, don't repeat the mistakes of last summer.

So do you basically just not buy the explanation regards PSR and maximizing the budget for the summer? Do you think it's BS? Not being snarky, genuinely asking.

To me, if Bruno's injury totally ends the season then I'd argue we're even more vindicated in not making a short-term investment in January.

Am I not buying it or just thinking it was a stupid decision?
