God gave him all the technical ability in the world and countered it by putting an invisible lorry on his back whenever he tries to run

If the only running he ever does for us (it isn't) was that sprint from one end of the pitch to the other to head Willock's cross into the back of Leicester's onion bag he can have my unequivocal love, endlessly.

Some of the crack on here is lifting.

all three of them are like usain bolt riding a wave of liquid cocaine compared to guimares. steve bruce on his way to a broccoli eating competition type of slowness from bruno tbh. just stupendously unreal how glacially he moves. still in the middle of tracking back for liverpool's 2nd goal. syrup in winter scored better on the beep test. should have been a dmv worker in zootopia. disgusting. i hate him so much.

Fastest I've ever seen him that run

You're right he won't, but imo he is far more effective though when in a forward position. You mention about City and Liverpool, you're correct at their grounds, but at home we have more than taken the game to them and have been unfortunate not to beat either the last two seasons.

Yea, for us it is better to have him higher up. We were way too open when he was to one breaking up play.

Agreed.

I don't even think he's that slow.

I mean, half of the N-O run faster than him.

But to be honest, that really is the only thing (in additition to his shooting) why he is playing for us and not for PSG or Barca etc.

Love the lad though. Hope he stays for a long long time.

He’s looked very sluggish to me recently. Definitely agree that when he’s further up the pitch he has a far greater impact on the game. I also

think he gets caught in possession far too much.

He looks at his best when he can put in a burst of speed. He's slow over distance, but he can usually do quick bursts to get him past players. But if he's fatigued than he's just slow everywhere, and that's where he is at the moment. He looks jaded to me, we should be rotating him more.

It's actually funny when he runs sometimes as he looks like he's proper busting himself to go fast but at the same time he's like going backwards .

I mentioned this also about Tonali in his thread, but he looks quicker when he's busting a gut to get into the box when we're on the attack. I remember the Leicester goal, when he covered  from half way inside our half to get onto Willock's cross. Couple of other times he has done this also I'm certain. He looks likes he's walking in the Louisiana swamps when he's running towards our goal mind.

If it came to it for FFP to allow us to reinvest, Bruno is the purple id be most open to selling tbh.

Bruno looks a shadow of the player he was and captaincy doesnt suit/hasnt helped him.

I dont think we would get anywhere near 80m for him If we sold him either, probs closer to 60-65.

Currently averaging a goal every 7 games and an assist every 6 fwiw.

I massively disagree.

To start with, Bruno is the hardest working player in the league. No one runs more, no one plays more minutes. That's going to be hard to replace on its own. 'The best ability is availability' as they say.

Secondly he's literally the only player with genuine creativity in the team. He is a brilliantly inventive passer which you'll be losing.

Finally, he's the captain and extremely popular amongst the squad and fans.

Other than Isak he's the last player I'd sell

Not a chance I’d sell Bruno. He’s everything I want from a Newcastle United player.

He’s been off the boil the last few weeks but there’s some really short memories in our fanbase like.

it’s actually crazy how a player can go from brilliant to shot within the space of a few games, sometimes even less.

Being outplayed by Liverpool doesn't mean we should rest anyone. Bruno simply has to play every game he's fit for, as do nearly all our good players.

Bruno has been poor, but so have all the team apart from Isak and Hall (mostly). He needs to be playing in the number 8 position when Joelington comes back in. Only a few weeks ago, some were saying we had the best midfield in the country. Well they all have the rest of the season to bring home the bacon. Big three month coming up and a few questions will be answered.

I personally don’t think it’s fickle to suggest Bruno is the one to cash in on this summer. We need to get better at selling and his stock won’t get any higher than it is currently due to his age. Unfortunately it’s the world we live in now regarding finances in football.

You don’t sell players like Bruno unless it’s unavoidable. There are plenty of well documented reasons why, all I’d add is he doesn’t rely on pace so will be a top-tier player well into his 30s.

People talking about selling a player we hadn’t won a game without until very recently. Righto.

Some cunts on here would want rid of their gran the first time she burns the roasties.

Fuck her. Roasties were the only thing she could do well. She'll get used to that pensioner's home eventually. And it's only 300 miles away so we'll get there twice a year. Old people man, never had it so good.

I think being rested will be great for his game. Not only to keep him fresh, but also a reminder that you are only as good as your last game.
