Not too dissimilar to Andy Cole's goal against them. Same end, cross from the same side, well directed header in the same corner.

Header not in the same league as Burn's but worth a mention I thought

I agree but there are about three defenders hanging on his arms and neck. What can he do? The referees should help more.

With his size I expect him to attack stuff like Van Dijk or Terry...heck, even Dabizas or Steven Taylor. With his frame he'd score more than they did if he attacked a ball like they did.

The header was obscene. Really wish we scored more from him at set pieces, as he has shown he can plant a header, and it should be a route that gets numbers that Gabriel gets at Arsenal. But our deliveries are so regularly shit, it doesn’t maximise the ability of heading we have in the side.

Set pieces so huge right now in the game, but we’ve not signed someone who’s a natural at taking them since Trippier really?

Tonali was lauded for his set piece delivery at Milan

(Can kinda see why people think he's trying to put that back across the box from this photo)

Really? I haven't read the thread but are people really suggesting that?

Why does whatever Burn do always have to come with some sort of caveat. I'm not sure what more he needs to do for people to appreciate how good he is

It has been suggested yeah. Pretty certain he meant it personally.

Sat in the Leazes near to being inline with the corner flag.  Seeing it clipped over and how much time he had.  I thought he was going to try and head it back across or even volley a cross in.  Outrageous to score from there.  I assumed he had somehow looped it over the keeper.  The replays are insane.

You can tell how wide outside the post it starts just from Botman's reaction.  He doesn't celebrate until the very last moment as it draws back in.

Like the Roberto Carlos free kick of headers.

Hang it in the Louvre.

One of the best headed goals I've ever seen :sweetjesus:

Was just about to post the same. When you see how far wide it starts out it seems impossible to come back in that far.

Must be that 50p head that imparted the spin. :pow:

It was beautiful. Looked like it was going wide then you see it bend and the feeling was amazing.

Thank you Dan Burn. Again.
