Coming out mid week saying he doesn’t expect to be dropped. Shambolic.

He shouldn’t be anywhere near the team unless he’s at centre half.

If they dont think Hall can handle more than half an hour as yet......who would you suggest al LB ?

Given Howe obviously didn't think Hall was ready and the only other alternative was Tripps at LB and Krafth at RB then BDB had to carry the can.

He's, again obviously, a better CB 😂 but not better than Botman.

For me, neither "penalties" were penalties. The first one, I could understand it being given but it wasn't. Correctly.

The 2nd one he never touched the cunt.

The club should appeal the red, fwiw

Moving forward it's a back '5' of Ramsdale, Tino, Thiaw, Botman and Hall

Not going to pile in on Burn tonight, he's been completely hung out to dry out there fur the last 5 weeks. He's done his best, he's not been adequately supported by Joelinton, Gordon and Ramsey and other managers have targeted him quite rightly. It's been coming tbh, just as his Boxing Day rinsing versus Forest was too. He's done his best but it's now time to address it. We've been unlucky to lose Hall and Tino simultaneously but other options should have been tried

FWIW I've long thought that Burn does a really good job of making up for his obvious unsuitability to LB and do still think that for what he is - our third choice LB - he's doing a good job in that context.

Not today though, today was when the usually hyperbolic stuff you see about his performances was actually the reality.

Never has been and never will be a modern LB

Modern LB ?

I’m late 40’s and have been watching football all my life and I can never remember a time when full backs were 6ft 7inch carthorses

I love BDB. But he’s neither a modern nor a vintage LB

We have to find another option at left back if Hall and Tino are out. Whether that's Trippier LB and Kraft right back, or a youngun coming in, just anything; there's no point repeating the same mistake over and over again, and it's frustrating to me that it's taken a sending off and a match losing penalty for it to come to a head.

Burn isn't a left back and never has been, even when he did okay there in the first season it was often with the caveat that Joelinton or Willock practically played as a second LB too, and that Trippier was causing havoc on the right; obviously both he and Trips are much slower now and having both of them on opposite flanks is just a liability.

We lose so much going the other way with him at full back, the odd headed goal doesn't change that. Him being in that position affects the whole team tactically.

Put him back to centre half, put Botman on the bench, bring in a young left back in January and let's move away from ever playing him in this role again.

Today just put his limitations on full display. They were always there to be taken advantege of.

He is laughably slow for being a football player and should never ever play at LB where there is too much space between him and goal.

How the fuck he wasn't taken off after the first penalty shout I don't know. He should have been off after the booking, it was a disaster waiting to happen.

Please no more.

He should never have started you mean :) (At LB)

When he first played left back a couple of season's ago, he pretty much sat as a third centre back.

Why is he now flying forward and leaving so much space behind him? Seems to be chasing back too often this season. Also keeps getting too tight to the wingers and just making a mess of things from there.

Botman's own goal came off the back of him getting caught too far up the pitch last week and we lost off the back of that. This week again Ouattara kept getting in behind him and it's ultimately led to the loss.

He's in line to go to the World Cup next year and so I don't think Howe is going to drop him. If that's the case, we'd better switch to a back three instead, as he's been a disaster at left back.

So the first was a blatant penalty, but the 2nd not so much, in my opinion. But clearly the VAR evened things up after the error on the first.

However, I thought he (Burn) was unlucky to be given the 2nd booking, it was a nothing challenge, and not every foul that leads to a penalty is a booking.

But concur with other comments, he was being rinsed by the lad so EH should have brought Hall on after the first let off.
