He's a fucking class defender like. We'll feel it massively when he's gone.

To deal with Halaand like he did after the early yellow card isn’t to be overlooked like

I know Halaand got the assist but he had to drop wide to do so

It was like when you were 21 and you were 1 short at 5 a side so you'd ring your Dad

Great block first half mind and I will always love him no matter what.

Thought it was interesting that it looked to me like it was his error that played everyone on for their 2nd, but Hoddle immediately said that everyone else should have dropped off like he did.

Thought this at the time, he dropped back far too early. Everyone else held a decent line.

He's done incredible things at this club but tonight was an example of why he's not going to be on the next part of our journey. He was probably never good enough for this level and he's certainly not at 33. I suspect next year he'll become firmly a squad player and will then leave at the end of his contract in 2027 or move into a coaching role.

I did too, just wondered why Hoddle thought the opposite

The fact that he has 0 pace is what makes him being a good defender even more impressive. He's done his bit here but unfortunately looks even slower which I didn't know was even possible.

He's fine as a backup for next season with a partner next to him who can cover ground.

Yeah, he was particularly bad last night. I really think the tactics of tight man to man on a huge pitch against nippy Barca players was a very dubious idea and asking Burn to attempt that was a bad call.

As someone said on the match day thread why on earth didn’t we go two up against Brobbey? He was backing in to Botman/Thiaw constantly and winning everything so Burn just needs to go in front and Hall tuck in so there isn’t too much of a gap to stop it from

happening. All their threat came from long balls to Brobbey

He has been a brilliant signing - sadly he’s getting exposed week in week out

Needlessly runs up the pitch which infuriates me

Yes a fantastic signing and I think that’s come from Howe the running up the pitch but it doesn’t seem to be working this year.

Said at the end of last season when we came fifth that the three players to replace were Pope, Burn and Joelinton in that order for more elite technical players as well as getting a technical RW. Shows how much changes because I think we need double that now.

love Big Dan but I fear we're seeing a fair but of a downturn from him recently. He seems to be losing his head a fair bit defensively.

This has to be an instruction, he does it too much for it not to be.

There's not much that gets my blood pressure up more than the Big Dan Burn left wing overlap from centre half.

It's such a bizarre tactic, it's not as if he has the end product to justify the great big fuck-off gap that you just know nobody has bothered to fill in the middle of the pitch.

This is why I have zero trust that Howe can construct a change in personnel

What you don't like the massive gap left which is voted by "checks notes* the rapid Sven Botman?

It's rancid and someone should have a word.
