Surprised not to see him mentioned tonight. He was really, really good.

His physical presence was excellent. He has a good knack of bullying the opposition without drawing fouls. It definitely unsettles the opposition. So him shoving Gordon around was delightful to see.

Defensively he's excellent (although sometimes a little scary in our box). However, we need a much much better left winger if Burn is going to play left back. Offers absolutely nothing going forward.

I reckon if ASM was fit then we wouldn't be seeing Burn at left back. The trio of ASM, Joe, Targett worked really well. With ASM out as has been pointed out we tend to slip into a 3 at the back to allow Trippier to bomb forward, knowing as well that Murphy will race back to add solidity with ASM wouldn't find natural

It’s one of football’s great mysteries how this lad doesn’t get skinned for pace very often. I think Antony and Gordon managed it once each and someone got completely behind him yesterday but overall it’s amazing how little space people get down our left given the fact he’s not pacy

Not really. I don’t think he is that slow, and in fact he uses his big body quite well and it’s hard to dribble past him.

Antony tricked him by off the ball movement prior to getting the ball. Kudos to Antony.

There was a game during lockdown/last season where he got absolutely roasted at Brighton for pace; can’t remember who against but he was awful. He seems to have learned a bit from that. He uses his body and is good at snidely pulling players to make up for his lack of mobility.

Like the rest he was absolutely fine yesterday.

Garth actually makes a very fair point about Lloris there. Out of the top clubs he’s far and away the king of gaffes in nets

Yeah, I've always thought this like. Can you imagine the emotional wreck he'd be if France hadn't won that World Cup Final.

Huge goal saving tackle from him to stop Buendia at 0 - 0 today. He's played a big part in us being so good defensively this season. This back four of Trippier, Schär, Botman and Burn is so, so competent and balanced, both defending and going forward
