Friendlies

I mean I totally agree but both teams were pretty much full strength.

And Arsenal just looked crisp, creative, and clinical.

I hate pre-season friendlies between teams that play in the same division for some reason.

Really? Man, they're already at each other, I think it's great.  Arse again, think they'll be decent this year.

Well, you could see obviously how new signings have improved teams. Jesus at Arsenal a prime example.  They have had a pretty decent run in pre season.

As an American I just had a fellow join my team from the UK who is an Arsenal fan and season ticket holder. Can't wait to talk football with him once he can officially join. Arsenal do seem good. Wait times before you can start a new job in the UK are kinda crazy from an America perspective.

Just had a deeks at the Fener squad. Josh King, Max Meyer, Enner Valencia all managed by Jorge Jesus

Love how barmy Turkish football squads are

Not asking the question to you but where will they play their home games this season?

They’ve had friendlies in Poland and the “home” leg was played there too so assume that might continue for European games. Can’t see any team getting insured to go to Ukraine nevermind wanting too.

I know there’s been rumblings of the Ukrainian league potentially starting again inside Ukraine (Western only) but with no fans but still seems a bit risky IMO.

Massively on the slide compared to previous years though. Seems like the bigger clubs have been horrifically managed financially which hasn’t helped.

Always thought with the money they throw around that big Turkish clubs would be better off going with a Shakhtar type model, focus scouting and recruitment on young players in a particular nationality/market, balanced out with domestic players. Similar wage bills and similar restrictions on number of foreign players - meaning resources could be funnelled effectively. Instead they scramble around signing any old washed up players from Europe on daft contracts/loans.

The weakness of of the league means there can be some success individually from doing such - but I don’t think it really stands them in good stead in Europe.

Sacramento FC (USL, the Championship of America) makes it to the FA Cup Final equivalent in America.

Took down their third MLS squad.

Super good match.

Hell yeah.
