Harsh on Merson, IMO.

I know he sounds dense and can't pronounce players names.  But at times, he actually makes some really valid points and isn't in it purely to annoy people into calling up a premium phone line.

Agbonlahor is the worst out there of the more mainstream lot.  The worst of the worst is that Rory bloke.  Amazed he gets air time.  But probably does for the soundbites and the segments they can clip up to drive debate, based on his shit takes and stupid comments.

I see that Rory fella everywhere and I still don't get why he's on TalkSport and things like the Overlap. Who is he and what has he done in football?

As far as I can tell.  One of the youtube personality types and used to be on whatever that wank show/podcast was that True Geordie was on.

A cacophony of cunts.

Similarly you could have given Steve Bruce £200m in January and we'd have still not won a game all season.

No bigger indictment of a coach than what ex-players say.

I listened to what Dwight said about Bruce, Pardew, Jones, Howe, Rafa etc. He was candid but tried to be respectful. If a coach doesn't coach, discuss tactics and can barely motivate players... there's not much to say.

Agreed that the one skill he seems to have is befriending people in the media. Which is why he goes apeshit when the media turn against him.

Bruce got an extremely easy ride in the media with us.

Funnily enough, neither Rafa nor Howe have invested much energy into that. Both care more about managing players (obviously) and the fans.

I love how Bruce uses his over 1000 games as a manager like its a trophy, yet despite all those games he hasn't won a single trophy and has won manager of the month just twice, one of them being this season in League One. That in itself tells you everything. He has also managed 13 clubs which gives him an average of lasting for about 83 games per club.

Christ, he's at it again today with his personal pr machine talksport.

"Half the stuff he's said is exaggerated and the other half is lies"

Why would Dwight Gayle lie. He's making out like he's set out on some sort of hit piece dedicated to Steve Bruce.

Wasn't this just a tiny clip of a question he was asked amongst a long podcast about many other topics.

I bet Dwight Gayle doesn't give two fucks about Steve Bruce and just answered a question honestly and now he's being laid into by Bruce's buddies. Bet he wishes he'd just passed on the question now.

Nothing screams the truth more than when a guy bites back as heavily as Bruce is over this.

That’s right. I knew it was an St B name but couldn’t remember it. I like how he couldn’t even be bothered to change his first name.

Agbonlahor is up there with Paul Merson as the thickest pundit around. Both stealing a living.

I agree.

Merson especially gets on my nerves constantly repeating himself like Jimmy Two Times from Goodfellows and why the hell can he not eat his crisps and sweets before he's actually on the TV. The amount of times he's caught eating his snacks and having to listen to him quicky chewing while reporting on the game he's well paid to comment on is cringeworthy. God knows why he's still in a job, he's absolutely crap at it.

It’s pretty surprising that the usual geniuses in the media are going to bat for Bruce again. What has happened to both Bruce and Newcastle since he left has proved us right, and we have ex-players validating our opinions on him,… but still they insist on trying to make the case for him. They should’ve just kept their heads down and ignored all this.

Heard another of his media mates say he was doing a 'brilliant job' at mid-table Blackpool yesterday [emoji38]

He always does fine to start with because got the most part they still remember how to be footballers and professional athletes. It's after he's had them for a year or two that the wheels really fall off.
