Happy for them to never see pl football again. We don’t need a derby anymore to liven our seasons up as we’re regularly winning cups and getting in Europe. Would be absolutely everything to them though. Much prefer seeing them get their hopes up for a play off spot for most of the season and then having those hopes dashed when they inevitably bottle it last 10 games. Plus reading that they’d give Milan a game after we’ve just played them is absolute gerld.

This is all a load of garbage with due respect. Beating them now should just be a forgone conclusion. Losing to them and we'd never live it down. It would make their season/decade/lifetimes.

To summarise the gains don't come close to what the losses would be.

Just let them fester where they are.

Yep.  I’d also take issue with the idea that derby days are class :)  They’re not - they’re anxiety-ridden nightmares, and even when we win it’s more relief than joy.

Let the cunts rot.

Ah, well as long as it's with all due respect [emoji38]

We've lost to them before, and based on how we're doing these days, I'm living it down just fine [emoji38].

Let them come back up if they can. Adds some drama to the fixture list and some money to the region. Of course I would be chewed up by a derby loss, but long term it wouldn't make a difference. We are massive.

Not for me. We've bigger things now, bigger games and occasions than we've had against them. The games didn't stand out in the past when that was the case. Don't need any more drama than every game mattering because were challenging for big things.

The matches are usually forgettable and none personally stand out as threatening a top ten in terms of occasions so just brings nothing for me except preserving the status-quo by beating them

We don’t need a derby win for validation. We have a trophy now, with every tool to win more in the near future. Them. Was nice knowing you. When we’re in Europe again next season, I’ll think of 6 in a row and laugh.

A recent microcosm and illustration of the current position and direction of the two clubs was the moment when O'Nien tried to maim Izak in the cup derby last season and just ended up looking totally stupid and hopeless.

It said a lot.

This small time false crowd peddling lot are just about on ignore now...they seem bitter about something though 🤔

I’d line to have seen whether a rash of reasonableness had broken out over the trophy celebrations. Like to think I’d have been in a ‘fair play to them’ state of mind, if roles were reversed. Doesn’t seem to be any threads on their RTG forum.

From their `mixed marriages thread` I have doubts about the first post being true

Their capacity for making up stuff and then getting angry (faux or otherwise) about things that only exist in their own brain cell is impressive, I'll give them that

That can't be true but if it is has more reflection on the cowardice and fickleness of your average mackem than us. Having said that "Beefy" switched sides allegedly didn't he?

There's a thread about "mixed marriages" that's a real eye opener. Loads of them married to Mags but don't talk about football and can't wait to tell their kids that they support a team owned by a murderous regime. 1 even offered his father in law out on Christmas Day because he was teasing his grandson. Some top parenting going on in Sunderland. I mean, we might be just 10 miles apart but we aren't the same. Not at all.

They're utterly hilarious. Like, they really are.

Not for me, love derby day, loads of aggressive banter, obviously desperate to win but anxiety riddled 🤔

Had a great one in Thailand a few years back with a couple of old mackem mates ( 1-1)

Currys on Wessington Way gonna be doing a roaring trade in new tellys tomorrow. Tyne Tees news just had another piece about 'The Biggest Party in the Regions Biggest City', and can't wait to see Carol Maglia and Dawnie on about it at 6.30 again.

Feet through TV's all over wearside tonight. ;D
