West Ham & Forest seemingly sorting themselves out. I still think they'll be in the scrap come May.

Team third bottom could go down with a pretty high points total this season. Very compressed table.

When their inevitable slide starts. Just saying. Like.

Performance wise they're way over what they should have. They've probably just about done enough to get through the rest of the season to pick up enough, but I don't see them as being any better than Leeds & Burnley when I've watched them all play.

Never once come out top on stats since before their play off semi finals. That's a lot of games to be defying the odds. Obviously unsustainable.

Was watching our midfield run City ragged yesterday and just had this nagging feeling that it's all well and good doing it against Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Nico Gonzalez but the real test will be against Granit Xhaka.

Could still yet find themselves in trouble. Look at their schedule until mid Jan

Bournemouth

Liverpool

Man City

Us

Brighton (away, long trip)

Leeds (6-pointer IMO)

Man City

Spurs

Brentford (2nd game away in 3 days)

Palace

They could easily have a disastrous stretch of games

The real test will be doing it away from home against anyone

Of all the Mackem myths, I think ‘a rivalry that goes back to the English civil war’ is my favourite of all.  It’s such complete and utter bollocks and an obvious fiction - what rivalry would a walled town have with a fishing village?  ‘Sunderland supported the parliamentarians’ - tricky to do it when neither Sunderland (nor the whole of modern County Durham) actually had a single MP, unlike Newcastle.

Thing is, that requires Leeds, Burnley & Wolves to do a big upturn in form.

Leeds have lost 5 of their last 6 - some of them games were winnable too and have a nightmare set of fixtures coming up.

Burnley have lost the last 3 but have some winnable home games coming up. The problem is that they just seem so toothless going forward. Wouldn’t surprise me if they lose their next 3 (Brentford away, Palace home, you lot away).

Wolves are done. They’ve already played the 3 promoted sides, got beat every game, and have 2 points from 12.
