If the PIF deal goes through, watch this thread on the evening of 28th of January when the Royal Rumble is on to see how many of them are willing to give up even a casual passtime or interest out of outrage at Saudi ownership

Hardly any of them boycotted the Joshua/Usyk rematch (if any) so don’t hold your breath.

It is what it is mate, if they don't and the mags won, it's a trophy stained with blood money, they can boast all the want of and when they do win something, they have bent over and allowed sportswashing for the sake of a few cups

In the Man City vs Southampton match thread where all the mackems were cheering on the club owned by...

They're absolutely bricking it after that draw, hilarious to see the triple-mental-backflips the groomers are doing to dismiss (a) any trophy and (b) specifically this trophy and (c) any appearance at 'Wembo'. None of which now count, sorry everyone.

One thing though, after well over a year... how do literally none of these imbeciles understand what the term 'sportswashing' means? If anyone is in any way positive about NUFC "aha yave been sportswashed marra!". So, I've had my previously tarnished reputation somehow cleansed by pouring millions into a sporting event or establishment?

Or are you getting mixed up with the word 'brainwashed', conflating that with the word 'sport' and just running with it, cos why not? Cretins.

If we do get to the final mackems will be worried...

"What worries me is that the mag fans will embarrass themselves in London, they will do the trafalgar square, convent garden take over to mimic us with their obsession but they will cause so much trouble it will be a kick in the teeth for the North East, although London and the authorities know Sunderland fans and most other non mag fans are generally well behaved."

Their contrary nature is great, they’re tying themselves up in knots with it. They’ll be dusting off their Cantona 7 shirts they bought during the 95/96 season for the semis, praying we get the Mancs rather than Forest.

Sunderland themselves are the third lowest ranked team to get to a League Cup Final from the last 10 finals. Bradford and Villa the only ones lower. Southampton finished 8th and Swansea 9th the season they won it. No self awareness that they were one of the three 'weak' finals of the last decade.

Apparently the easiest run to a final in the history of cup competitions I seen yesterday  Aye cos having to beat 4 premier league teams in a row is a stroll in the park ?

Nowhere near as hard as their route to a possible FA cup final in 2004 when they had to play Hartlepool, Ipswich, Sheff Utd, Birmingham and then Millwall but bottled the semis v Millwall
