Newcastle United 2 - 1 Leicester City (17/04/2022)

Recommended Posts

Think I've watched that goal 50 times. From Willock picking it up until it's buried in the net ... the last time I remember sounds like that was Emre's goal against Reading (edit: looked it up, 2006. lol) pickig it up in the center circle and driving on himself. I'm sure someone can remember something more recent but there surely haven't been many.

Just watched the highlights on MOTD2 and there is a class shot of Howe celebrating the winner and the Leazes end ganning mental. So good.

He almost holds himself back from grabbing the camera and cheering into it.

Absolutely loving people singing along to Movin’ On Up at full time too.

I was blind, now I can see
You made a believer, out of me
I was blind, now I can see
You made a believer, out of me

I'm movin' on up now

Gettin' out of the darkness
My light shines on
My light shines on
My light shines on

I was lost, now I'm found
I believe in you, I've got no bounds
I was lost, now I'm found
I believe in you, I got no bounds

Fucking rights!

Was almost written for us.

The mancs and scousers are good at adapting songs from local bands, though Liverpool’s latest Klopp song is a bit cringe. Surely we can adapt one of Fenders songs, something new and catchy to capture the renewed hope around the club. For all the atmosphere has picked up massively of late, the songbook is tired and all re hashed stuff. Hopefully the upturn in our fortunes will lead to some new material in next few months and make the atmosphere even better alongside Wor Flags.

Good definitely do one for Joelinton, to the tune of Big River.

Steve Bruce brought him to the tyne

played him as a number 9...

Joelinton

I want you all to know

that Bruce was blind

Love a bit of Robbie Earle, a very underrated player in his day.

Yes. I'd have had him here were it not for Rob Lee, maybe as an alternate with the multi-pronged assault on all competitions. Very consistent, plenty of goals, good in the air and in that team, in a better more ambitious team he may have been top level. Thought it may happen with his being good mates with Barton and speaking well of us.

Few class moments captured down the right, Miggys little run, Bruno's, the nutmegs and Maxi winning the throw in...class man.  I'm still not bored of re-watching the highlights.

It is class like but I have to say that Matthew Raisbeck/Ando bit made the hairs stand up. Poetry.

Agreed. I know Ando gets a bit of stick from some, but as he's a good man and is as black and white as the rest of us.. Razor has also done a  superb job in taking over from Mick Lowes.

I really like Ando [emoji38] he's so fucking dour sometimes but that's part of his charm. Makes it all the sweeter when he gets genuinely excited in the moment.

Aye he’s fine. Raisbeck is a great commentator.

Living and working down here, with it being me first day back, I've squeezed reference to Bruno/95 or 95th minute/diving headers into as many conversations with as many people as possible today. It's been fucking glorious, particularly given recent 5-0 and 4-0 drubbings they've given us. A couple of mentions of scenes without needing clappers has also hit a few nerves. :papiss:
