General NUFC stuff: club crest to be changed (Official)

Recommended Posts

I'd like to know which parts are difficult and why so. I'd also like to know what applications we are missing out on, and it's value to us.

If it's the tongues, and it costs £1m a year in high end printing techniques then they can go. It's all relative but think we should be told what that looks like.

by the sounds of it circular is better so I’d imagine the shape of the seahorses and scroll isn’t ideal.

I quite liked it for two reasons:

a) it was the badge that was on the shirt when I first started supporting the club/wearing the strips

b) it was the only one I could draw (being shit at art) on the cover of my school books etc.

I don’t disagree but I don’t think it’s going to break down like that. It’s more general.

Had a quick look at the crest history of both Aston Villa & Man City and their current crests are very similar to their old crests in the 70s, 80s & 90s. I also noticed both clubs have changed their crests a lot of times

is that public knowledge or just something you know?

sounds like we’re not going for a major rehaul? Based on the survey and the article?

That the designer is a fan? Public knowledge if you read up on the hires. It’s that Ginger lad…. (Surname not hair colour!)

It was always going to happen. I think of most Premier League teams, maybe even top few leagues, we have one of the longest standing designs.

In principal, I'm totally in favour of it - but it just HAS to be good.

Saw someone mentioning earlier "excited but terrified", I feel that sums it up just right for me too.

Absolutely no need for it and just seems like change for changes sake. Cant see any benefit to it whatsoever when there's nothing wrong with it. The last one belongs on a junior football shirt so can see the need there.

Generally hate the idea of changing them anyway, takes times to get equity into these things, its just drawings and letters until you get that,we have it, so why f*ck with that and start over.

The Twitter meltdown about this is on going

Don’t have twatter, but I’m not surprised.
Everybody has to have a reason to be upset at something in this day and age.

That’s why I fucking hate Twitter everyone just ranting and gobbing off at each other via the internet about a daft fucking badge. This country is fucked. Bring back national service and capital punishment.

The supporters Trust have written to the club about this change, and the survey they put out (not a ST holder or Paid Member, so haven't seen to myself). They seem to suggest the survey is a bit one sided, and doesn't include a 'No change' vote or option.
