Alan Smith and Amdy Faye were proper nothing players, added no value at all, was like playing with a man down. Lots in that category, Colback, even Anita was pretty useless.

Myself and I reckon loads of others desperately wanted Anita to be good and cut him lots of slack on here but he was pretty horseshit tbh.

Think Anita was ok when Rafa started using him as a right back

Was that in the Championship? I can't remember anything about him playing right back tbh, just remember him being slow and weak as piss in the middle of the pitch. Didn't he go to Leeds and they absolutely hated him [emoji38]

Forgot all about Gamez. Completely [emoji38]

I remember Anita, Vuckic and Bigirimana all being given inexplicable amounts of grace to come good.

Was really willing it for Anita and Bigi tbf, but never got the hype with Vuckic. To this day, I still don't know that lads position [emoji38]. Was it a 10? Surely it can't be? Him moving around was like watching an oil tanker do a three point turn in treacle.

*Yedlin.

Gamez was really weird. Barely kicked a ball either side of looking great away to Swansea one day.

Anita was rubbish at CM but found his level at RB in the Championship.

Who made 7 appearances for us.

Anita played 27 times at right back in the championship. He was canny. Rafa seemed to like him there.

Henri Saivet is still the weirdest player I've seen in my lifetime imo, came for a decent fee (For Mike Ashley anyway), didn't get a look in, went on loan a load of times, came in out of the blue one time, immediately conceded possession leading to a West Ham goal, and scored a belting free kick 5 minutes later

Gamez was 100% a dressing room mole for Rafa and nothing else. Nobody will convince me otherwise.

I literally remember nothing about him  Suspect he was a shite Cm/DM, feel like we had fucking loads of them during Ashley, most of them having been mentioned lately.

Didn't he completely slag Rafa off when he left saying him he promised a load of stuff and ruined his career?

Wasn't he like 32 when we signed him?

Henri Saivet was amazing on FM a tricky winger / striker but for some reason played CM/DM for us. Out of him, Alan Smith and Joelinton, Joes the only crap striker turned great midfielder. The others have been terrible

Can anyone give me anything, anything at all positive about Smith? An effective match he had, an assist, any kind of crumb of decency? The goal in the friendly (I was there!) doesn't count - competitive contribution only.

Him getting sent off in the closing stages of our away win at Cardiff as we got the promotion season up and running for fouling an opponent on a threatening breakaway is about all I can muster. Even when he did something vaguely good it involved him getting a red card.

His home debut playing right wing was the perfect introduction to him. Offered absolutely nothing and was a hindrance to the team as a whole.

Hated Colback way more though. Should’ve been abused from the moment he stepped foot in the club. Rat.

Every match we started Anita, he lasted about 15 mins in central midfield before Pardew swapped him over with Perch, who to be fair was far more combative.

Anita scored an unbelievable volley in Brugge, I think?! It's one of those goals that I've only ever seen once and can't guarantee I didn't imagine. Like Sibierski's mazy dribble away at Waregem. No footage of it exists so did it really happen?

Obertan was absolutely horse shit for us until one day it clicked and he was mint for about 4 games, then snapped his hamstring at home to Liverpool I think it was and was basically done after that.

Riviere was shit too but thankfully didn't get to 50 games.

It was the Championship, brother. He was fucking shite. As evidenced when Leeds signed him when they came up the next season and he spent most of the time picking spelks out of his arse
