Why Dundee ?

Why a private school ?

Why 45 tickets ?

Why were their tickets allocated straight after fixtures announced ?

Was it NUFC who allocated the tickets ?

How many other random organisations in random parts of the country get loads of NUFC tickets ?

Why am I paying for membership to not win a ballot in 50 games ?

Why were there next to no general sales tickets available yesterday ?

Is dressing up as Wee Jimmy Krankie my best chance of getting into the Barca game ?

So many questions

The system is well and truely broken and as I found out yesterday they have no intention of doing anything about it.

Ballot success rates are dropping for everyone it would appear (going by my experience and that of people I know) and availability for the members general sale is nowhere near what it was. In the past if you got on and were in the first 5/6k you knew you'd get a ticket somewhere. My mate got 3,000 odd for Wolves and nowt left when he got on. Resale used to be decent but can't even get a sniff of a ticket through that anymore.

Makes the fact that they don't seem to be making any noteable progress on a new stadium all the more bizarre.

Looks like scalpers are getting on early and hoovering things up to resell. Must have people on their F&Fs linked and using bots etc to buy in bulk for all linked accounts I reckon. Coupled with (especially CL games) they ramp up corporate/packages etc massively and take away from Joe Bloggs.

But yes, demand yesterday was off the scale. God knows what I’d have done if I’d not been extremely extremely lucky (2/28) in winning a ballot. My cousin got a queue number of 5k and ended up just getting one. And I mean just.

and aye, announce a new stadium ffs.

Getting in at 5k and getting one was some achievement yesterday

Myself and various other N-O resale warriors were in at 1.5k - 2.5k and couldn't get a sniff of a ticket, despite having finely honed basketing techniques and highly lubricated F5 fingerblasters

All that practice at Dontino’s paying dividends.

I got 2 in level 7 and I was 4500ish in the queue.

Had to accept straight away that lower bowl was a no go. Just picked a block and stayed in that block and kept F5ing until they came available.

Ive got a question regarding away tickets and transfering to linked family and friends. Not sure if this the right thread to raise....

Probably not. Members aren't allowed to buy away tickets

Although a few people with ST's and away points do sometimes pop into this thread to keep us company and give us some compassion

Any time I tried that pick a block technique it would let me F5 for a minute or so, then I got locked out of the website for 5-10 minutes. Which was a nice touch.

Ha. Okay well I deffo need compassion as a non member and non ST holder. Im a nobody. Someone who used to enjoy numerous away games as part of the sub culture who used friends ST holder tickets buying on my behalf. In short I want to go to Brighton away but my ST contact seems incapable/unwilling to link me as a friend and family to allow me to then get to two away games per season in an official sort of way through that new ticket transfer policy

It should be relatively straightforward.

Give them your details - supporter ID, postcode, surname.

They then need to go into their ticket account via the following:

Personal Details > My Friends & Family > Manage my relationships > Create a relationship

Relationship type - Friends and Family

This person is my - Friend

and I am their - Friend

Does this person have a user account with us - Yes

Then enter your details

That should add you to their F&F list and they’ll be able to transfer an away ticket when the time comes.

If they aren’t very tech savvy or they do all that and it’s not working, they can just speak to the box office and ask them to do it as long as they have your details to hand.

Thanks. Yes Ive communicated this to them. I fear it's more a reluctance. I will try again ...

Thanks for your help

O sorry one more question on this...

When it comes to away tickets. I've found these are normally (or used to be) paper based. So if my ST contact does indeed sort out my linked membership thing... Under the new transfer policy it's something like 72 hours ahead of game to notify of the ticket transfer..

Would anyone happen to know if the ticket would be reprinted with my name on it?(If paper based). Essentially I'm in SE and they are in Newcastle so trying to consider the practical issues of actually getting said ticket in my hands

(Sorry lots of very case specific questions to my situation)

No, unfortunately it’s your / the original owner’s responsibility to physically pass the ticket on.

They’d have the ticket at least a week before the match though, so shouldn’t be too much hassle to post to you, even if they won’t have done the actual transfer at that point.

I dare say you could do the transfer, tell the club you’ve lost the ticket, and pick up a new one from the away box office on the day with your own ID (as the ticket will be registered to you at that point). However if your contact is a bit reluctant in the first place, doing all of that probably isn’t wise.

You're amongst friends here. Many of us have trodden the same path as yourself getting tickets off friends and family back in the day.

And take some consolation that even as paid up members, we're still nobodies in the eyes of the powers that be at NUFC.

Thanks much appreciated. Very helpful insight.

Indeed first hurdle is convincing my sole ST friend to oblige... (I must have accrued loads of points for him over the years- getting tempted to point this out)

There is absolutely no issue with transferring if everything is done correctly.

But, depending on how clued up people are, I can understand the reticence when you hear stories of checks, people being banned and having points taken away etc.

Yes 100 per cent. This is why I don't really get the seeming reluctantance of my friend. Im merely attempting to 'legalise' my attendance twice per season

A very small part of me selfishly misses us being shit when I could freely and easily get a ticket to an away game without fear or repercussions to my ST friend.
