He kind of plays everywhere but seems like the majority of his games come as a 10

So we just do what we do with Willock and Joelinton, with these two on the right? Love it.

Man-U don't have anything to worry about from a FFP perspective

If their budget is low it will be due to the Glazers

However, once their takeover goes through they'll no doubt flex their financial muscle

Once ? Don't the Glazers now seem to be wanting investment rather than a takeover ?

Hoping our window heats up this week with some concrete information!

The transfer bath is currently drier than the Sahara, leaving space for this forum to become something resembling an Eddie Stobart fanciers wet dream following Fender.

May be wishful thinking because it's only quarter past 9 and I'm already bored at work, but do think this is the week things start to heat up. All the business stuff with Sela and the new kit is done and out the way, season is completely over, window officially opens. Imagine we start hearing about actual moves this week.

Last time we announced a sponsorship (Noon 27th June) we signed Botman four days later. Here's hoping....

Would Maddison being with England hold anything up?

Appreciate a lot can be done behind the scenes but the player himself might put future on hold until that 2nd England game out the way (19th June).

Crazy there are internationals during this shortened break.

There's precedent in the past for players being allowed to temporarily leave the training camp to sort a move. Though that's usually at the very business end of the move when they have to come in and sign the contract, take the promo photos etc. Doesn't seem like we will e at that stage till after the 19th anyway.

Seems like it will be either Ratcliffe or the Qatari's

With Ratcliffe a couple of the Glazers would remain but as minority shareholders, think there would still be debt involved but at a much reduced rate than they have now

With the Qataris it would make them debt free so they'd have way more scope to spend big, well bigger since they already spend big

Didn’t Bruno sign for us while he was away with the Brazil squad? It shouldn’t hold it up.

Feel like something will happen this week with Maddison/Szob

The only downside to signing Maddison is it means we probably won't be signing Szoboszlai. Then I'm going to be raging when he signs for Villa or Spurs. FFP is really fucking us over.

Robin Koch at Leeds who I think we've been linked with at times can leave Leeds on a free this summer after they've been relegated according to Bild.

Leeds fans will be partying. He's rubbish.

I’d take him on free for sure if it frees up the budget to go bigger on another cm. Very solid and can play back-up to Bruno and Schar.

"Very solid" isn't a description of the same player. He's been a massive flop for Leeds.

They’d largely be in the same boat as they are now in terms of player spend. Any takeover doesn’t magically alter revenue, sales or the players already at the club. They would perhaps fix the wreck that is Old Trafford mind.

I think it does changes things though, whatever the Glazers currently take out in dividends and also spend on interest payments will go towards transfers. That will be a decent amount

No idea how much it is specifically, maybe @Froggy knows??

They take £20-£23m out every season in dividends. They were very kind to only take £11m out when covid had devastated the accounts, but then took £33m out the following year anyway.

Over the last 10 years I think the interest works out around £50m a season.

They took out another loan over Covid rather than put any money in and we're still paying it as an external debt as well and it has averaged about £35m over the last couple of seasons.

They've also paid themselves management fees around £25m from the club accounts and paid themselves director fees worth £55m (12 directors, 6 Glazers) over the last 10 years.

They take a lot out of the club. It was looked at extensively by Swiss Ramble last season and in August last year it was estimated that they've cost the club £1.6b since they took over.

If we were bought by someone who cleared the debts, we could do a Boehly in the summer, but I don't think the squad needs it. A striker, midfielder, centre back and a goalkeeper would do rightly.
