Dortmund or Ajax would be a smart move for Guler. Don't see him coming here, even though we've progressed massively in the last year or so I think these real top top level youngsters won't see us as their preferred club just yet.

Depends. I can see a younger player, for example that Nmecha lad, being ok knowing he is coming in with the idea that he will have to fight for a place rather than be an automatic starter.

It’s over to Jacob Whitehead next, who is answering this question from Chris C: Are Newcastle targeting two or three elite players or going for more squad depth and not getting carried away with their quick progress?

Jacob Whitehead: Good question. The mood music has had more key changes than a Whitney Houston ballad, but as Newcastle’s budget has solidified, it is understood that coach Eddie Howe wants to add around two elite players who will immediately improve the starting XI before filling out the rest of Newcastle’s needs with depth pieces.

Those splashy additions are likely to be midfielders, or at least a wide forward/midfielder hybrid, with the cheaper options currently slated as a left-back, a right centre-back and a developmental-level forward.

To some extent, this approach has been dictated by financial fair play (FFP) — but recent windows have seen Newcastle take risks late in the process, powered by new owner PIF releasing funds and the magic of amortisation. The late signing of Alexander Isak last summer is just one example.

Mood music FFS. Have you spoken to a source who has told you something reliable about what's actually happening. If not, stop writing.

Sadly they can’t. They must capture attention with every none update or else why would we return and continue to pay our subs?

Newcastle United Sets Sights on Nicolo Barella and Exciting Attacking Midfielder to Boost Squad

In a bid to reinforce their midfield options and inject a wave of creativity into their play, Newcastle United has set their sights on securing the services of Inter Milan's highly-rated midfielder Nicolo Barella, along with another dynamic attacking midfielder. The Magpies' new ambitious ownership is leaving no stone unturned in their quest to revitalize the club's fortunes, and these potential signings signal their intent to compete with the best in the Premier League.

Nicolo Barella, the 25-year-old Italian sensation, has been on the radar of top clubs across Europe after his standout performances for both club and country. Blessed with exceptional technical ability, tireless work rate, and remarkable vision, Barella has established himself as one of the brightest midfield talents in Serie A. His ability to control the tempo of the game, thread incisive passes, and contribute defensively make him an enticing prospect for any team.

With Newcastle United undergoing a period of transformation and ambition, the potential acquisition of Barella could serve as a statement of intent. The midfielder's skill set perfectly aligns with the Magpies' desire to play an attractive brand of football while competing at the highest level. Furthermore, his age fits perfectly into the club's long-term vision, as they aim to build a squad capable of sustained success.

However, Barella's capture alone would not satisfy Newcastle's hunger for midfield reinforcements. The club's hierarchy recognizes the need for additional attacking flair to unlock the full potential of their revamped squad. The pursuit of another dynamic attacking midfielder is evidence of their commitment to assembling a formidable unit capable of challenging the Premier League's elite.

While specific targets have not been confirmed, rumors have circulated regarding the Magpies' interest in several exciting talents. The club is reportedly monitoring the situation of Florian Neuhaus from Borussia Monchengladbach, whose technical prowess, intelligent movement, and goal-scoring ability would offer a valuable dimension to Newcastle's midfield. Additionally, Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon has been on the club's radar, with his exceptional vision, creativity, and eye for goal making him an ideal candidate to spearhead Newcastle's attacking endeavors.

Newcastle United's interest in both Barella and another attacking midfielder underscores their determination to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for European qualification. The club's new owners have promised significant investment in the playing squad, and these potential signings demonstrate their commitment to delivering on those promises. Should they succeed in securing the services of Barella and their desired attacking midfielder, it would send shockwaves across the footballing landscape and showcase Newcastle's newfound ambition.

As negotiations continue, Newcastle fans eagerly await the outcome of these pursuits. The prospect of witnessing a midfield partnership between Nicolo Barella and a marquee attacking midfielder would undoubtedly inject a sense of excitement and anticipation into St. James' Park. With their club aiming to rise from the shadows and compete with the Premier League's elite, the arrival of these two gifted midfielders would represent a significant step towards achieving that lofty goal.
