Kaizero
That article is so much nothing when you get to the last sentence: "But she said: "Alisher Usmanov is not buying football club Charlton Athletic.""
HaydnNUFC
£20m v £450m, can't say I blame him. Aye but league 1 or premier league. Love how it’s jumped to £450m all of a sudden too It hasn't. But probably will if someone called the FCB's bluff and offered £400m.

Rich
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45405476 Fucking love stuff like this, revolutionising the throw-in. Of course Andy Gray has already piped up saying it's a load of shite.

Yorkie
Love it. They had a brilliant chatter about it on Monday's Totally Football Show. One of them was saying about how, when Delap was doing his thing at Stoke, not only would they threaten from the throw-in itself, but opposition would be so afraid to concede throws, that they'd get clumsy in their own half, enabling Stoke to press higher to better effect. Which is obviously what Klopp is all about. As they were saying, ultimately it's a set piece so it's something to be maximised and exploited. James Richardson quite rightly pointed out that it's been largely unexplored as a tactical device.
Rich
It'll win Liverpool the league then everyone will be at it.
newsted
Honestly, for years our throw-ins were so shit, we'd just give it away every time. Drove me nuts. It's important.
bigfella
Can't believe no one has looked into this before - our throw ins are a good example, they've been a disgrace for years, constantly surrendering possession even though we usually take the safe "slow it down and throw it backwards into our own half" option. Guest
Will the older ones back my dad up? He’s repeated a story for years that when Gordon Lee took over from Harvey, Supermac said the first thing he said in training was, ‘Right, first of all this is how you take a throw-in’, and he knew from day one they did never get on? Village Idiot
The Spanish FA said they will block the Miami game. The league's president botched it by signing the agreement before getting all the stakeholders behind it. But he probably expected that a fait accompli would make everybody fall in line. The relationship between La Liga and the Spanish FA has always been rocky at best.
Village Idiot
Has the MLS said something about La Liga coming to America, by the way? I'm drawing a blank via google. Can't see the game happening if the MLS opposed it. I guess it could hurt the league if the Europeans start playing official games regularly down there. Village Idiot
The Maradona show goes on. He's apparently left that Bielorrusian club he was chairman of, and signed for - kid you not - Mexican club Dorados de Sinaloa. I guess he wanted a guaranteed quality supply. Village Idiot
BBC is holding a poll to choose the greatest Spanish footballer to ever play in the PL: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45425893 As much as I love Silva, I voted for Xabi Alonso. Fábregas was a monster for Arsenal too, I think people seem to have forgotten that, probably influenced by how indifferent his stint at Chelsea has been.
