An FA spokesman said: 'Winning teams will be awarded with non-alcoholic 'champagne' for their celebrations in all FA competitions, starting from this year's Emirates FA Cup Final.

'This is to ensure that we are as inclusive as possible to players and communities who may be prohibited from alcohol, as well as any players who are under 18.'

:anguish:

Nothing wrong with it.

It's daft as fuck. Nobody needs to drink it. Adjusting to every other culture and belief is a favourite among a lot though. Urgh.

When they spray it about someone who doesn't drink might accidently get some in their mouth and that.

It's not about adjusting your culture to theirs, it's simply finding a way of meeting theirs but also it doesn't get in the way of the dominant culture. Making alcohol free drinks available is clearly not repressing anyone's culture. It's simply an option there for someone to exercise, if they wish.

It's hardly fucking ramming theirs beliefs down your fucking throat, is it?

It's the principle of it, more than anything. Changing ways to adhere to conservative/other beliefs. The champagne already was an option for someone to excersise. Simply no need to change anything.

What you're talking about? Which ways have changed for you? I didn't read the article due to the source, but there will be alcoholic champagne still available, no?

The champagne was not an option to exercise...? No, there was only once choice: alcoholic one. Now there is none-alcoholic one for the individuals that prefer it.

What's so fucking outrageous about that?

All it is, is the ones being supplied by the FA are non-alcoholic. They have even said if a club wishes to have alcoholic ones in the changing room then they are free to supply themselves with it as has always been the case.

Many footballer don’t drink these days because they are athletes and quite simply it effects their performance to have it in their diet, and that is one of the reasons why the FA are doing this. Surprise surprise though, the Daily Racist are focussing on how some players might be Muslim.

The bit in bold might be the answer to that question. Sissoko's been great for Spurs this season, but his goal record is still atrocious.

It's not a subjective thing, it's literally based on facts.

Also people generally overrate how easy it is to score chances in football. xG is in no way perfect but it's absolutely miles better than "shots" which don't tell you anything

xG will always be somewhat lousy until it’s weighted by shooter which is nye on impossible as even then the best player is stil liable to a brainfart. Saying that it’s still miles better than shots attempted or shots on target though. As with all stats they’re worthless without watching the game. Possession being the age old example.

I was just thinking about whether shooter, keeper, and situation (not just position) are considered. Seems they're not, but I decided to go peak sad cunt and email opta to check because their website seems to be desperate for everyone to email them.

Deserved. Also only been shown one yellow card all season.

Sounds to me like he doesn't like to stick the boot in. Rubbish. Bin him.
