KaKa
55 minutes ago, Conjo said: "can he play rw" no That just shows he hasn't featured there much so far in his career though, right? I think there's a bit too much of a focus on positions rather than the roles the players play and what they're being asked to do. Just because a player starts on the right, doesn't necessarily mean he is going to be playing as a touchline winger. Two examples from this past season were Morgan Rogers at Villa who featured on the right in a good number of games for them, despite having not really played from that position before, and it was the same with Desire Doue at PSG. Both right footed attacking midfielders that had the freedom to find spaces to impact the game from that right side. Gallowgate Toon
We've apparently liked him for weeks but yet to agree a fee which is the key bit. As Howe said, you need to move quickly to secure good players as there'll always be others sniffing about. That doesn't mean Chelsea wouldn't have swooped in had we agreed on a number or JP might stall on personal terms, but it's frustrating we can't get over that key hurdle. I'm worried we're so PSR burnt that we want to engineer the perfect deal, even if it takes us deep into the window. This year is going to be tough, I think it's imperative we get off to a good a start as possible. This is exacerbated by Howe's standards meaning players need bedding in time - preseason is a fantastic leg up for that process.

I know TCD is a big fan of Jackson, but as a top level striker he's a bit shit really. They beat us to Delap, maybe they are thinking they can deploy Pedro alongside him, same way we would do with Isak.
Kilcline
Sure Maresca who has found himself tying himself up in knots shunting his best player all over the place because he wants to play all 3 of Lavia, Caicedo and Enzo while not changing his system too much will be delighted with another number 10. Fuck Chelsea. Cunts.

Yorkie
If Howe's already had his ear he'll end up here, no bother. SJP was rocking when he played for Watford up here n'all so he'll have that memory working in our favour.
Tsunami
We need a new strategy of going in early for players we don’t want in the hope Chelsea buy them all; leaving us to then lose out to another club for our main targets.

We need a RW for sure, but I don't think Elanga adds another dimension to our game. He won't really give us much different when it comes to breaking down the bottom half teams who sit back. I think Pedro would give us more creativity in those games.

I've said another striker is our most important signing for some time now. We have more than enough games to rotate two strikers even without considering the option of playing both. Given we’ve went for Elanga, I’m not at all convinced Howe is looking to add another dimension. It looks to me like he’s wanting to play the same way, and just add better players to do it - which is fine, Guardiola doesn’t exactly shake his style up. There’s no way he plays four up top (even if Pedro plays as a ‘second striker) - we’d be overrun in midfield every week.

Unless one of the cartel clubs come in and offer bigger wages, and in Chelsea's case a London location.
